I would like to make a complaint about this hotel due to our terrible experience. We checked in yesterday and talked to the receptionist about the fact that we would not be able to have the traditional breakfast (which we had already paid for) and HE offered us to change it to a western style breakfast, thus, we accepted it. We were supposed to have our breakfast today at 7:30 (later than usual). So, we organized all our trip to Tokio around that, meaning we woke up later than we wanted and we programmed our trains later too. However, when we got to the dining room, the staff presented us the traditional breakfast (which we had canceled the previous day) and said that reception did not notify them. At the dining room, the service was very sorry and treated us very well. The thing is that when we went to reception to complain to the same receptionist that supposedly changed our breakfast the day before, he told us that they did not have the ingredients and could not do anything for us. Thus, they charged us the breakfast and offered us NO COMPENSATION at all. As a result, we had to leave to the station and change all our transports and have a sad sandwich from Lawson for breakfast since it was the only establishment that was open at that time. What’s more, we were supposed to take the shuttle bus down to the station, but we couldn’t since we had to leave earlier. So, we had to carry our luggage for 15’, which is okey, but they could have offered us that AT LEAST since we paid for a service we did not receive. That being said, the room was spacious and was beautifully decorated in the traditional Japanese style, and the rest of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. It’s a real pity that we had to finish what was supposed to be a wonderful experience this way.

Actually a clear recommendation, there is a shuttle bus from the train station that you can call via the tourist information, everyone in the hotel is super friendly, the public one is a dream and the private ones that you can book separately are amazing, plus fantastic food, we We just made the mistake of trying to sleep on the floor, which I can't recommend, but of course there are other rooms too.Actually a clear recommendation, there is a shuttle bus from the train station that you can call via the tourist information, everyone in the hotel is super friendly, the public onzen is a dream and the private ones that you can book extra are amazing, plus fantastic food, we just made the mistake and wanted to try sleeping on the floor, I can't recommend that, but of course there are other rooms.

This is the 4th authentic Japanese 'guest house' I've stayed at and it's the worst.First the good news. The food is put off this world. We stayed on a half board basis and the Japanese dinner was excellent. We were still full when we came down for an equally delicious Japanese breakfast that we could not finish.But that is where the good things end. The room was beer sub-average; noisy aircon, bathroom from the dark ages, peeling paint, futon bed with a ridiculously thin mattress. They are also missing some tricks: but the bar, snacks, etc on the lovely roof terrace, decorate and freshen up the hotel, think about the needs of your guests and then meet them (more shuttles to the station, bag storage, etc.).Not a great place to stay even if it is advertised as 'authentic Japanese'.

Would highly recommend especially renting out one of the private roof top onsens they are brilliant the temperature was perfect. Nice and relaxing all around, staff were friendly and helpful very professional!!

Never had such a great experience in my life. The personal was so welcoming, helpful and warm ! The food was so interesting and nice. Each ingredient was so fresh and tasty, I will come back to Aura Tachibana for sure if I come back to Japan ! First experiencing public and private baths, it was so amazing and relaxing. Everything was so clean. Arigato minasan !!

After checking in and walking around the building before dinner, I heard some noises, so I looked into the bar lounge and found an older male staff member whistling. I felt that there was no hospitality at all at this class of inn.I thought it was impossible, felt bad, and stayed the night with a bad feeling.The other employees were working hard, but I felt that the impression of one corrupt person affected the impression of the entire hotel, which was very negative.
