Absolutely a unique and amazing experience. Everything from the way the meals were served to the layout of the rooms were so carefully and thoughtfully designed. The best part of our stay was the customer service and especially our dedicated resource, Raia, who was ‘assigned’ to care for us. She is absolutely exceptional, attentive as well as the nicest & kindest person we met and interacted with during our stay there.Hotel staff really went above and beyond, including picking us up/dropping us off at the train station as well as driving us to and back to nearby restaurants. We also had great massages, facials and used the pool and gym during our stay. Our room had a private onsen and a beautiful view which we loved.Highly recommend the Gora Kadan experience!

We had such a lovely stay this past Sunday! A highlight of our honeymoon so far, we stayed at Gora Kadan after two nights at another ryokan in Kyoto. You can tell that the staff here really care about the guest experience from the very beginning. We really enjoyed getting to know Kenji-san who was very friendly and funny. The food was phenomenal (get the Japanese breakfast!) and the baths were so relaxing. The little touches along the way made our stay so special. Thank you all so much!

I originally avoided it because I thought it was an inn for foreigners, but I thought I'd give it a try at least once, so I decided to visit. The public bath is good, the room is average, and the food is inside.Overall, it's average.1. Matsukasa-yaki sweet sea bream came out, but it was a mystery how they could make it so poorly. The skin and flesh were completely separated and the skin was sticky.I've made Matsukasa at home twice recently, but it's much better to make it yourself.2. It's not a baby, so please don't touch anything other than the car doorknob. This time it was better because I had a white car, but when it's a brightly colored car, it gets sticky and leaves fingerprints on it, which is annoying.A middle-aged Japanese male staff member.3. It's nice to have room accounting, but please don't bring your credit card, bring your own device. It's obvious.4. Wi-Fi cuts out when I leave the room. It would be better to build it with mesh or something, but this is also a baby in IT literacy.5.They sell sake that you can buy for about 2,000 yen for 30,000 yen. It's way too expensive. If you can't buy it officially, you could also get Skunk Basho sparkling.Recently, I went to a bar in my neighborhood and found out that the sake that sells here for 30,000 yen was only 5,600 yen. That's appropriate.I was complaining a lot, but I wasn't particularly dissatisfied, I just wrote what I thought. An inn that lacks a lot of study. Japanese people probably won't treat me like this.It was a good learning experience.

On weekdays, 90% of the visitors are foreigners. Apparently they have a little free time on Saturdays and Sundays for Japanese people. It may be difficult to pay for the visit for yourself, but the person who helped you may be very happy to receive a gift of accommodation voucher.

Definitely a worthwhile stay. Our stay was in the Bettei Akatsuki room with 5 adults and 1 baby. From our first entry of the property to the check out, we had staff immediately rush to help with our luggage and check-in. We were greeted with cold tea and sweets while they found our reservation. A staff member was assigned to our room and guided my family to the room and gave a brief room review. All of the facilities info was conveniently in a binder by the phone. Luggage was already carefully placed in our room ready to be used along with robes to change into for bathing and relaxation. Our room came with an outdoor and indoor tub to use any time of the day with a beautiful garden view. Multiple washrooms and the rooms were quite easy to separate for big groups.I generally dislike the traditional flavors of food provided by ryokans and similarly styled hotels but I found the food very flavorful but not overwhelming. All the meals flowed well and it was served to our party in a private room. The check out process was quite nice as well. They brought breakfast to our room and took our orders the night before. We left our luggage in our room as we went to explore the rest of the city. When we returned a taxi was already ordered and ready for our departure. All the staff were exceptional in service and were experts at ensuring that our experience was one to remember. Rooms were cleaned while we dined and flowers were replaced frequently. I noticed staff moving out of the way when we were taking photos of the hotel. A framed photo was provided for us to remember our stay.I highly suggest trying their sake after a quick soak.Afuri mizushikomi Aiyama < Kanagawa >. While 1 day was enough to experience all of it I suggest staying at least 2 nights to try both courses of food which I regret not being able to try (Omakase and their seasonal menu). I look forward to another visit in the coming years.
