Location is good if you want do do a lot of shopping in the city centre, for the main sights you still have to take the buses. But we did not like the room. There was a lot of dust in some places and tables had some stains. In general the room is outdated and would require some renovations. There is a strange smell all the time in the bathroom. General comfort (e.g. bed, shower, smell, noise, no curtains, no service/cleaning) is also lower compared to other hotels. We visited a total of 6 hotels in Japan, and this one was the most expensive and least comfortable one. If it would be in the low-budget category I would rate it ~3.5 stars, but not for the price we booked.

The interior decoration and furniture of the room were stylish and it was a very enjoyable space ☺︎It's also close to convenience stores and shopping streets, so it's easy to spend time there.

So close to everything. Super adorable and large space. Very friendly. Would highly recommend. Keep in mind you are right on/next to one of the most visited areas in town so if you will hear people outside late/early. It wasn’t a problem for us but something to consider if you are a light sleeper.

This is the cutest little hotel in Kyoto, my husband and I really loved our room. It was two twin beds plus an extra loft and the shower was amazing. Much more room than the APA hotel that we stayed at in Tokyo. The staff are very friendly and it is honestly in the perfect location, you are minutes from the Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley, and so many fun streets with shops and restaurants to explore. Also right by a few different bike shop rentals which was perfect for us. We would definitely stay again!
