The WiFi is prehistoric; I’ve seen ancient civilisations rise and fall faster. They prioritise fresh towels every day (wasteful) over their internet, and there are signs threatening fines everywhere. They also don’t post luggage. At least the rooms are clean…

Stayed here for 3 days and it was more than adequate for my needs. Clean, comfortable room, close to Train station and bus stop. 7-11 close by and several places to eat. Breakfast was basic toast, jams, noodles and Coffee but did the job. Met all my needs at a great price.

I want you to clean it properly.Dust accumulates on the hanger, near the doorknob, and on the desk. A lump of dust in the bathtub. As for the smallness and poor customer service, I wasn't looking for much, so it was fine, but I had a strong feeling that it wasn't that cheap...

The man with long hair at the reception in the morning was pretty rude. He kept ignore me while I waiting at the reception. But the lady in the night shift is pretty nice and helpful.

Five stars without question 😍It’s amazing — superior even to European standards. Clothing freshener, flashlight, toiletries, pajamas, breakfast, pillow with a firm and soft side and MUCH MORE. I'm amazed! The current rating of 3.9 is definitely inaccurate; it's misleading. If you're considering booking Hotel Excellence, you can do so with confidence. I highly recommend it!- Lucia

It is located about 3 minutes from Enmachi Station. The room was well cleaned. Although it is far from downtown Kyoto, I think it has good access to Kinkaku-ji Temple, Ryoan-ji Temple, etc.

No more boiled eggs with breakfast, there's just some bread, instant ramen and jam. Moreover, the way they deal with foreigners is awful! Also, when you speak Japanese with the staff they don't use polite language, and sound rude. Even they tone isn't polite at all.The worst experience I've had with hotels here, in Japan for 10 years! The receptionist's treatment of foreign customers is really terrible! They don't greet you, ignore you when you wait at the reception desk, and when you talk to them in Japanese, they don't use honorific language and only say things like "Give me your passport!" in extremely rude English. . I came to visit my favorite city, Kyoto, for the first time in a long time, but their rude attitude made me feel uncomfortable.

I booked this hotel at a great price because I knew I would be checking in late. When I went there, I saw that there were many foreign people visiting. One of the reasons for this is the free breakfast, but as mentioned in other reviews, boiled eggs were not served, probably because it was peak season, so I only had toast and coffee. As I observed other people, I saw them enjoying bread, noodles (like chicken ramen), corn soup, and coffee many times. Also, the reason for the low service score was that although there was a hair dryer in the room, it was hidden in a part of the TV shelf and was hard to find. Another reason is that the toilet paper is located close to the toilet bowl, making it difficult to use.
