We got a room looking to the street and it was very noisy during the whole night. On top of that they don’t have proper black out curtains, so it is impossible to sleep. Noting that this is an easy fix they should check it. I cannot recommend it.

I stayed here for 5 nights in July 2024. The room that we stayed in faced the street where there’s an illuminated Lawson sign which basically makes the room daylight all night long. This has been mentioned in various reviews over the years but they haven’t taken any measures to prevent the room being so bright. At first they wouldn’t help at all with light, but I went down to the front desk a second time on the first night and they offered eye masks and to tape up a blanket over the window.Other than this the pillows are quite bad which has also been mentioned in numerous reviews. They compress down to nothing and provide no neck support. The hotel would be decent if these things changed, although one more issue is that our room was extremely humid to the point where all of our dry clothes turned damp. But I have no faith that they will change anything given the number of past complaints about these issues.

Clean and well located hotel but the rooms require major improvements:-the room feels too humid-The pillows are terrible, that and nothing is the same.- It does not have any mechanism to prevent light from filtering in as soon as the sun rises, otherwise you will be woken up at 5 am in summer with a mask.- the light in the sink area is so dim that it is impossible to put on makeup.-very slow wifi.-hotel not run by Japanese, so there is a difference in the quality of service and friendliness.I loved the area but I would not repeat or recommend the hotel.

The hotel is a typical small inn in the heart of Gion. |At the entrance there is a small bar which turns into a breakfast room in the morning (not many dishes, just fruit, yoghurt, bread, jam and boiled eggs)|The …

Really enjoyed our experience here. Clean rooms, with a traditional Japanese feel. Great location, a short walk from the busier areas of Gion.

It was an accommodation where you could fully experience the atmosphere of Kyoto. The room was clean and the staff was friendly! There was also a 24-hour Lawson convenience store right in front, so I was able to buy anything I needed urgently. The road to breakfast was also pretty. I also requested a Japanese home-style breakfast and it was very delicious. Next time, I want to stay for multiple nights haha🤍
