There is a bus stop to Kyoto right in front of the hotel. There are bus stops for Ginkaku-ji Temple, International Conference Center, and Shimogamo Shrine and Kamigamo Shrine just a little in front, making it convenient for sightseeing. My favorite Fauchon Hotel. I spent the most money on this hotel during my trip to Kyoto.Since it is a renovated business hotel, the hotel itself is small and the rooms are also small. The room is a superior twin Higashiyama view.I made a reservation with a half board plan.It is said to be a gourmet hotel in Paris. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The Kyoto milk flavor for breakfast was strong.I changed itThe grapefruit juice also contained fruit pulp and was thick.Croissant🥐It was very deliciousThe omelet was made from cage-free animals raised in Kyoto, and was served with salt and pepper. The eggs had a good taste, so it was very delicious with just salt and pepper. You can enjoy Fauchon original iced tea and vanilla macaroons at check-in.The iced tea and macarons were both super delicious 😋The only disappointing point was that the towels in the room were smelly. The bathrobe didn't smell so I think it was just a towel. There were stains on the carpet in the room. The gourmet bar in the room was running low on sweets. It seems that macarons in boxes are no longer available⤵️The amount of other sweets was also decreasing⤵️I bought the macarons myself, but that was one of the things I was looking for so it was a shame😢I can't help but think about cost performance.I don't think there will be any repeat visits to this hotel.I'm glad I was able to experience this space just once.Thank you.It was Saishu~🩷

After spending one night in a Ryokon, we moved to the Fouchon which was about a 15 min walk from the Gion area. We were greeted with a cold drink and a plate of fresh delicious Maccarones. Our room was quite large and very nice . …

This is a beautiful property. A few things stand out:1) The service was just impeccable. So many small touches all centered around true hospitality. I would book again bc of this.2) The view from breakfast was just excellent. And breakfast was excellent.3) The location - I was within 15 minutes of 3/4 of everything I wanted to see.I absolutely recommend this hotel. A complete gem.

Amazing hotel with a great location.About 8 mins can ride from Kyoto station and 5min walk to two subway stations.l and a bus stop right outside the hotel. There are supermarkets 100Meters away and substantial number of restaurants around the hotel! It is also a 10minute walk to Gion and also to the shopping areaOn entrance a beautiful marble staircase takes you up to check in. We were sat down to check in the concierge area. Behind that during the opening house of the executive lounge, the screens are pulled back to incooperate the executive lounge. We had room 905, the suite. Very beautiful interior of the public space with dark wood and the use of pink, black. The attention to finer detail of the interior designing is amazing. The room was spacious with its own bedroom, living, bathroom with a bathtub and a separate bathroom. White sheets with black piping. There were nibbles and some dessert items in the drinks cabinet and the fridge. Coffee machine with 4 coffee pods and tea bags available. The views from the room was amazing on the 9th floor to Gion and the mountains.Food at breakfast was excellent. Even the grapefruit juice was great. the omelettes are amazing as was the croissants. There is also fruit plate and salad or grilled vegetables on offer for breakfast- a 3 part breakfast with bread/ croissants/ pan au chocolate on the side.Staff at front desk was very helpful and helped to book dinner and organise transport. Dasuke who managed the breakfast was excellent and was super efficient and helped out with serving. Two items that would have enhanced the stay is a pool and a spa with non treatment steam and dry room. Currently the spa is solely a treatment only spa.Excellent stay and as expected for a leading hotel of the world.

The hotel wasn't terrible by any means. Our room was upgraded (I believe?). The staff's English language skills were impeccable. Unfortunately, the hotel just didn't feel very "at home". …

Modern chic hotel with an artist's flair. We were lucky to stay 3 days in a larger room which was spacious (certainly to Japan standards) with a view across the Kyomizu Dera temple. Location is good, with easy access to eastern sites in the city via bus and rail. Staff throughout the hotel are super friendly and quick to help with any needs. Our suite was very comfortable with a great bed and pillows - a nice night's sleep - and a nice storage/coat room, separate lounge room, study nook, bathroom (with a huge tub bath that can fit 2 or 3) and a separate toilet room (with the customary washlet). Decor was an unusual combination of bright pink/crimson and black, but it makes the hotel stand out against more bland options and looks very smart. (I could not help but compare the hall carpet to liquorice allsorts candy). The property was clean and presentably everywhere. Excellent coffee and tea in the cafe with a speciality on macarons and cakes. There is not a lot of space to enjoy in the cafe, although the tea room just up the stairs is very pleasant.Restaurant food for breakfast was from a menu, but served very quickly and to the highest standard - one of the best. Our only disappointment was one dinner where there was a delay and limited communication about why. The steak meal was sublime and superbly cooked but very, very small (huge plate and tiny 100gm serving) and not value at ¥8,000.Nevertheless it was great hotel and refreshing change from the large chain 5-star model. I would stay again in preference to other luxury offerings.
