Pros:* very large rooms with great sanitary facilities* Onsen with sauna and shared pool* lots of friendly and attentive staffCons:* poor price/performance ratio, especially when it comes to drink prices. Shameless markup of 3150 yen for 2 tiny slices of beef steak at dinner* Not accessible by public transport. Only very limited shuttle service available.* Salad from the salad bar was sometimes very limp

I’m not sure why there were any negative reviews for this hotel because our stay was essentially perfect. The hotel is in a bit of a secluded area but that’s somewhat the point of the hotel. They do offer complimentary shuttle service to and from Gora Station. The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and well kept. The rooms were spacious and came with many amenities. Our private onset was also very nice and easy to use. The dinner and breakfast included in our booking was very tasty and well presented. I don’t quite understand the negative reviews about the staff because everyone we interacted with was phenomenal and most staff spoke pretty good English (which we were not expecting). We will definitely be back.

Perfect stay for a few nights in Hankone area. The facilities are top grade and thoughtful in design. Staff, lovely and accommodating. We were happy to benefit from the excellent shuttle service and walked down to local restaurants in evenings. Private onsen in room was exceptional.

Incredibly aesthetic, I was obsessed with all the furniture the whole time. The dinner and breakfast were some of the best I’ve had in Japan and they were very thoughtful of my wife’s pork allergy by substituting some dishes. Only negative was the constantly phlegmy coughing from a nearby child with no mask near the buffet tables, but I blame the parents more than the staff on that. The private hot tub was great, we used it 3x during a 1 night stay and never used the thermal pool.

We’re currently staying at this hotel for a couple nights in one of their rooms with a private onsen. While this property is beautiful and the staff are amazing, I don’t think it’s worth the price we paid for it.The breakfast/dinner were horrible. The only good thing about it was that their vegetables came straight from their garden therefore was very fresh. The pancakes we had for breakfast were dry, the soup from dinner was so salty we couldn’t finish it, and the desserts were too sweet.I recommend opting out of their half-board package (breakfast + dinner included) if you’re staying here. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Fabulous new resort just next to Miyagino town. We got the private onsen room and it was outstanding ! We had a car so the hotel was very easy to reach. Don't hesitate to book here for a great experience!

After the hotel was renovated, the room was very comfortable and the food was delicious. In terms of transportation, since it is a chartered car, it may be a little inconvenient for people without transportation.

Reading the reviews prior to coming made me a bit apprehensive but I couldn’t be more wrong! I’d let the hotel know about our dietary requirements before arriving and they were fully aware and had made arrangements for our breakfast appropriately! The check-in staff were good at communicating and listening to our needs. Hotel facilities were fantastic, well kept and so clean! Rooms were big in size with all the amenities you’d need alongside pyjamas and robes to wear whilst at the hotel.Breakfast was always fresh and felt like a 3 course meal with them serving a seasonal soup course followed by egg / pancake course and pudding! They were very accommodating.Having the lounge with unlimited access to tea and drinks was a great perk too!It rained throughout our stay and so unfortunately we lost out on the views and it was challenging getting food if you hadn’t opted into their dinner which required pre reservation but apart from this hotel facilities were superb! And the hotel were able to arrange taxis for us / use of the shuttle bus when we needed it! Would have loved a gym or spa too but honestly it was a great stay and I’d recommend it to anyone feeling like a more remote getaway!

Seeing all the negative reviews past few weeks we were a bit scared. However, our stay was amazing! The hotel is beautiful, the staff is very friendly and helpful even though not all of them can speak English. If you know Japanese culture, you will understand they always try to make things right.I recommend to book the room with onsen in the room, that is wonderful! You can relax anytime you want and enjoy your privacy. We highly recommend the hotel and we would come back.

Below average for the price. I really wanted to like this place but for $800 a night it's really not worth it. It's so far out of the way you have to taxi everywhere. They serve "italian" food. I'm sorry but I came here for a japanese holiday not bad italian food. The staff are lovely and helpful but minimal english so I used google to speak mainly. It's clean and new but in no way japanese. If I had my choice again I'd choose a more traditional place. The only thing it has going for it is a swimming pool. Extremely disappointing. Review edited! We tried to leave the hotel before 10 am and there is no way of doing it! No cabs before 10 no shuttle service before 10 only 1 bus that is at 9.45 nothing within walking distance. We wake up at 7 and are ready to go out at 7.45. But are now locked in the hotel effectively
