The employees are super friendly, respond very quickly and make an effort. It's great to sleep on the tatami-look floor. The rooms, especially the bathroom, are large by Japanese standards and there is a washing machine and dryer as well as free onesUmbrellas. The connection is great and there is also a large supermarket at Nijo Station. All in all, a great experience that I can only recommend!

Hotel Ecclesia was founded to help single mothers, providing employment as well as shelter nearby for them and their children. But even aside from being a cause well worth supporting, it's just also a seriously nice place! It's honestly been my favorite stay of this trip. I wish I'd thought to take photos before I tromped in and used everything! Just know it was all even neater and cleaner than it looks in the pics, absolutely spotless. The building is a repurposed apartment complex, so the rooms are HUGE, with wood flooring covered by a mat in the "living space" and "foyer" (make sure to leave your shoes at the door!) and carpet elsewhere. There were multiple outlets within close range of each bed, (very important), two shared between beds and one at the foot of one bed and two at the head of the other respectively. No toothbrush and toothpaste provided here, so be sure to pack your own, but if you forgot you can pick one up (along with a comb or a couple other things) for a small fee at the front desk, where you can also request a few free amenities like a humidifier or air purifier for the duration of your stay (make sure to go before they close at 9 p.m.!). The staff was so friendly and helpful, and all in all I had a lovely time. 10/10, would absolutely come again!

This hotel is absolutely brilliant! I went there in May for a few days with friends and I can assure you that the futons were very pleasant. We spent our best nights there. If you arrive earlier, it is possible to leave your luggage in a safe place. The receptionist is absolutely lovely and very helpful. I highly recommend this place !

This place was perfect for our family of five and so affordable. The room fit our needs and was clean and comfortable. The staff is top rate, so friendly and kind. If you want breakfast, make arrangements at booking (it’s too late once you’re checking in). Many amenities within walking distance, including a train station. Loved our stay, thank you!
