We had an amazing stay at Bokuyado hostel. We loved the traditional seating in the lounge and the homely feel of the whole place. There were so many board games!! We played some of them with new friends in the comfy lounge. The kitchen was useful but would be even better with a little hob or oven, or a toaster. The staff were very friendly and answered all our questions. Only 10-15 minute walk from Kyoto station. I hope to come again some day! Thanks so much Bokuyado :-)

It feels like going home, the atmosphere is very warm, the service staff happens to be Taiwanese, and they are even more friendly when they hear the same language and accent.

My friends and I stayed here for a week during our vacation to Kyoto. The rooms and common areas were very cozy and the staff gave us loads of local recommendations and even spent time sightseeing with us during their time off. They made us feel like we'd found a new family in Kyoto, and that we'd have a home to come back to next time we return.

Guesthouse is really cute and staff is very helpful. She can talk Chinese and English so well (maybe other language also).Room was so Japanese style but pretty noisy of road and guest's walking (it is wooden floor) you have to handle it by using ear plug it is for free. If you understand this you can rest here. There are kitchen and bath tub.I really love this place ❤️
