During my stay in Kyoto in summer I stayed here for one week and can definitely recommend it. I never mind staying in dormitories but this one was especially nice as it didn't feel like a normal dormitory but more as if you had your own little room in a room (if that makes sense). There is a nice cosy kitchen where you can cook and that is equipped with all necessary stuff you need. The lady owner is extremely nice and it is so lovely to chat with her although she doesn't speak much English.

Wonderful and clean. It is cleaned several times a day and is always sparkling clean. There is a full kitchen. Laundry is probably the cheapest in the world at 100 yen for washing and drying. The room is like a capsule and is about 1.5 tatami mats in size. It is spacious enough and separated by a door to ensure privacy.

It was a great accommodation experience. I stayed in a 4-person room. Everyone has their own small tatami space. There is a door that can be closed. If necessary, you can prepare your own lock and lock it when you go out.The entire hotel is kept very tidy. There is a kitchen and 3 shower rooms available. There is also a washing machine inside. You only need to twist one out for ¥100 to wash clothes (you can also dry clothes). The staff inside are very friendly👍🏻👍🏻

We stayed for 4 nights in the Japanese-style twin room. Would definitely recommend! By far the cleanest place we stayed at across our entire trip and our most comfortable stay as well. The owner is extremely kind, helpful, and very dedicated. All common areas, toilets, and shower rooms are totally impeccable, really seriously well-maintained. The room is a good size and is super bright and airy so we had no complaints even through the warm nights. Convenient location but still in a relatively quiet area. Definitely would stay here again. お世話になりました。ありがとうございました!

Last minute reservation because my previous hostel didn't suit me, here it was perfect. I stayed 5 nights. The beds in the dormitory have a lot of space whether in width or even height which is a big plus for Japan and all had a window. The staff was super helpful, everything was very clean, well maintained, you felt safe and at home 🩷

I stayed in a shared, 4-person room. The room itself is a bit of a tight squeeze, but profits from being very well organized. There is a shared sink, sectioned-off luggage shelf, and you have your own little nook with a futon and a sliding screen. The nook provides a nice bit of privacy and 'your own' space, which is definitely a luxury in a shared room of this type and price range. It's almost like having a room within a room, though if you're on a tall end, you might find it a bit uncomfortable. The only real fault for me, was that the air-conditioning was nowhere near sufficient for the space. I visited in the uncomfortable clammy heat at the start of September and while the lobby and the shared area were pleasantly cool, the room was far from. Especially if you shut your screen door. There was a little fan built into the screen wall to keep the air moving, but it really struggled to keep up.Other than that the stay at Wind Villa was great, the owner who works the reception is very nice and friendly, ready to help, and has excellent English which helps when you need help with something and aren't confident in your Japanese. The location is very convenient too, just a couple of minutes from two different convenience stores and a metro station, but not noisy as it's tucked away in a little side street. If you're traveling around Japan and need a comfy place to stay while exploring Kyoto that won't put a huge dent in your wallet, look no further.
