An absolutely beautiful ryokan, we went for the Japanese style room with a Mountain view, the room was absolutely beautiful and the private Onsen had an amazing views. Kanda and the team at Kyuan were extremely welcoming, and the service was incredible. They do complementary pick up and drop off at local stations after a day out and on arrival and at departure. The food was incredible, we had the most amazing traditional Japanese 9 and 10 course Omakase for dinner and a traditional Japanese breakfast, all the food was incredible and such an amazing experience. I would highly recommend staying here it was just amazing!Just to note: our Mountain View onsen was near a road so sometimes you could hear the cars passing but you can’t see the road.

Beautiful boutique hotel - a very relaxing mountain retreat with superb service, lovely rooms, large private bath - all overlooking the mountains. Dinner was lovely in a private dining room. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

Even though it was a weekday, I paid a reasonable price of several hundred thousand yen to stay there, but I don't even want to remember it.It's located in a secluded area and you can do everything from check-out to check-in in your room, so it's probably good for secret meetings or secret meetings, but it's not recommended for family trips. If you can't prepare lunch, you won't have any knowledge of sightseeing or dining in the area, and the equipment in the room will break even if you use it normally.Judging from the reviews, I think it's probably for incognito or foreign tourists. Please be careful.

From the moment we got there, we were greeted with top notch hospitality. It was raining and the staff welcomed us and grabbed our shoes and umbrellas immediately and began to wipe them down. They gave us a full tour of the room and offered us welcome drinks (which we also had included the following day). This is a very boutique ryokan. There’s only a handful of staff working there but they’re all very very friendly and kind. It made the experience very home-y! Definitely not a “big box” hotel feel. There’s not a whole lot of rooms and we rarely saw other guests. The service felt very personalized to us. After being out for the day, we gave them a call that we needed to be picked up from the ropeway station in 30 minutes and they were there immediately! We had both kaiseki for breakfast and dinner included for 2 days since we stayed two nights. The first day’s food was great but the second day’s food was especially fantastic. Our dinner was a 10 course meal including top notch sashimi, wagyu, and king crab. The private onsen and shower are in a windowed room that is fully surrounded by trees. You can open to let air in from nature. Really beautiful! The mattresses were also very comfy and pillow-top. This was very different from other hotels we had stayed in in Japan.Overall, I would highly recommend this place for a boutique, higher end ryokan onsen experience.

Lovely stay here with a wonderful crew to take care of all the essentials. It's a 4.5 from me. Here are the details. The room was quaint, clean, true to form for expectations for an immersive experience. The food was excellent! The thought and effort placed into each dish is incredible. I would say for some dishes, especially the morning fare, it might push your comfort level. The only knocks for the stay, no high shower head, running low on shampoo in the bathroom, and bugs. However, you likely should expect creatures, given your closeness to nature. Again, a very nice stay, but it's pricy.

A great luxury getaway in middle of mountain in Hakone. Dinner is Kaiseki dinner style and breakfast is traditional Japanese breakfast. Staff treated us really well during the entire stay.
