We couldn't fault this guest house. The space is lovely. It's clean, practical and pleasant to spend time in. The location was really great for us, easy walking distance to the Eizan line, and linking on from there to Kyoto central and beyond. The bikes provided were really fun, a great aspect of our trip, and we loved the tatami mat rooms and futons. There is a 7 eleven a couple of miles away, and bigger shops within walking distance. There were some useful essentials in the property when we arrived, including laundry tabs, which were hugely appreciated. Super friendly host, 100% recommended.

Certainly the best choice to make for visiting Kyoto, its location is a little away from the hordes of tourists but it remains close to all amenities on foot or by bus, which allows you to be calm after a long day visit. The restaurants around the house are very good and worth trying. So the temples still untouched by tourism retain their charm and tranquility, they are magnificent.A family of 4 people can spend a stay perfectly settled in this accommodation which has all the possible options. In addition, the host is truly exceptional, she will guide you and help you according to your requests. Thank you Fiona we will never forget.

It's close to the station and there's a convenience store nearby. The house has a modern Japanese feel and is really stylish. The manager, Jim, was also a very nice person, and was a great welcome by telling me that there was beer in the fridge when I arrived.

Chayama. It sounds like charm to me.As a mother of three children I am particular choosing a place to stay. It has to be cozy, it has to be like home.Chayama house has turned to be a magical place. Of course, it’s the beautiful teapot and tea cups that stole my heart. But for my family there was more.It was the atmosphere of the house and the neighborhood. While my kids enjoyed playing at a nearby park my husband prepared a lovely dinner for friends as he often does even though we had just arrived on that day.I rode a bike to Kamogawa as I used to and I felt young again. It was nice to sleep on the futons upstairs and we all could relax. The house itself is like a little gift box wrapped in lots of paper. All the interior details from the mattress wrappers to the bell above the sink make Chayama a beautiful and wondrous place to be.We could feel Kyoto: the rain singing its song, neighbors hanging laundry, the smell of fried meet from the restaurant nearby. All such things are indescribable and we are grateful for having this experience. Charming.
