Beautiful experience in a beautiful ryokan!Very large room equipped with all comforts. The proposal to provide a yukata to all guests to wear at dinner or in common areas is nice. We took a bath in the rooftop jacuzzi which can be booked for an hour (very private environment). A large Japanese garden adjacent to the restaurant is accessible in the hall. The only downside: we couldn't have a typical Japanese breakfast because the restaurant was closed.

Amazing rooms and staff that went above and beyond. The breakfast was an amazing japanese style experience, that was delicious and they even cater to specific allergies. The rooms are huge compared to some hotels we stayed at, and an evening stroll with the provided yukata through the garden was unforgettable. The bath at the top of the hotel is available through reservation and incredibly cheap. The location is quiet with a grocery store nearby and kamogawa is just a bus ride away. 5/5 will visit again.

Extremely friendly and kind staff. Diverse and delicious breakfast. Large, well-designed rooms that are a charming mix of traditional Japanese with thoughtful Western touches. An excellent location for access to the philosophers path, some of the most famous temples and shrines, and some lovely mountain hiking. Be prepared to walk to reach the city center, but the local area is calm and delightful, well worth the exercise.Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It didn't have much of a traditional house feel, but I stayed one night in a tatami room. The weather was very hot, and the air conditioner in the room was not working very well. I didn't feel stuffy as I could see the mountains in the distance through the room's window, the roofs of the houses around me, and the mountains in the distance. What was unique was that there were two types of hair dryers and basic cosmetics for men and women. The location was about 20 minutes to Keihangion Shinjo Station, so there was no need to store luggage, but there was no luggage storage service. It was convenient that there was a supermarket right in front of the bus station that sold fruits and vegetables 24 hours a day.

Absolutely recommend this gem of a riokan. It’s located very near some interesting sites, but away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, which makes it very quiet. The rooms are beautiful and make for a nice experience, plus we had a much better sleep than expected! The staff were so kind, helpful and accommodating, and the breakfast was so delicate and delicious. One of my favourites for sure.

Close by a couple of temples/shrines but remote overall. It was a good traditional Japanese experience.
