I had great experience. Extremely foreigner friendly hotel. Moreover the staff speaks English and was really helpful with everything. The staffs always immediately replied to all my queries via text. Moreover the location is near many tourist spot and we'll connected via public transport and lots of restaurants to choose from, including foreign cuisines..

Very pleasant accommodation, in a slightly out of the way area but therefore quiet and very pleasant. A stone's throw from the path of philosophy, the river and a few temples. We loved this place, the ryokan-style room was very cute with a small balcony overlooking a small garden. The owner, Canadian,is adorable and kindly accompanied us to the station for our return, taking us on a detour to a temple with great explanations! Perfect stay!! Thank you so much !!

We really loved this accommodation. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff was extremely friendly and the facilities with the terrace and the beautiful Japanese garden were simply fantastic. The quiet location in the residential area was perfect despite the non-central location, as everything necessary such as supermarkets and restaurants were nearby. The subway stop was also only a 10 minute walk away. Our only minor gripe was that our neighbors above us sometimes had heavy loud footsteps, but at night it was quiet once everyone was asleep.

Very nice traditional Japanese hotel. Large room with refrigerator, microwave and a small table. Very comfortable beds. The pillows could be better. A little far from the tourist center but with easy connection by train and bus.

I would recommend staying here to anyone visiting Kyoto. The inn is very clean, well run and the staff's English skills were fine. The owner/manager and front desk staff were extremely helpful when i needed to forward our luggage to another city and provided tips and assistance in using the local post office to ship a box back to the U.S. There are lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. It's located close to the university but within walking distance of most of the sights we wanted to visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Breakfast is not included but there are convenience stores close by which all have a great variety of things you can prepare in your room. Also close to a McDonald's.

This place was fantastic. The location is very convenient for both visiting downtown and for business near the university, and the proprietors were helpful and kind.There's also a really good Japanese breakfast place around the corner, おうちごはん きりん家.
