It has an excellent location to make the most of the day, we went by taxi directly from the station and it cost us 900yen.The rooms are spacious, clean and with all kinds of services. They even have a washer/dryer and they give you detergent (it's very easy to use).The service is excellent, and the breakfast offers you a choice of traditional Japanese or Western.I totally recommend it!

Beautiful ryokan. Large room, with tea area, kitchen, and a fantastic bathroom!!Disappointing breakfast.. not typical Japanese, but Western and very basic.Service not very attentive and much more "commercial" compared to typical Japanese hospitality.

If you go to Kanazawa this is the ideal place to live a unique experience. The location is very good... we spent two nights there and we really enjoyed the accommodation.

The rooms are good, the breakfast is poor, and the service is average, giving it a 3 star rating.First of all, when I checked in, there was a smell of cigarettes at the front desk, so please refrain from smoking before interacting with customers.The room has good flow lines and feels spacious considering its square meter.The bath is spacious enough to hold 350L of hot water (twice that of a typical home).There is a washing machine, but I don't know how to use it, so I wish they had instructions.There was a voice telling us to be quiet as there was a lot of noise, which might be difficult if you were with children.The breakfast croissant was delicious, but the other bread was sour and not tasty.Also, if you're particular about bread, I'd like you to serve butter instead of margarine.As you can see from the image, the amount of breakfast is small. Honestly, if you were a man, you would have to eat twice as much to feel full.There are many accommodations in the area, so we recommend comparing them.

Probably the best experience you can have to immerse yourself in the climate of Japan. Fascinating is an understatement. We stayed for 11 days changing 6 hotels but this place has nothing to do with anyone.You have to try it to believe it!Super recommended

Our stay at Utaimachi was really disappointing. Unfortunately, I asked them to help us book a dinner reservation which we had to cancel the morning of due to illness. The hotel did not advise us of a cancellation policy in the confirmation email. Upon our arrival they told us that we would have to pay $200 USD to the restaurant even though we weren't going. They also told us the laundry was broken in our room and they would reimburse us if we went to a laundry mat. Welcome to Utaimachi.The hotel staff repeatedly demanded that we pay the restaurant for a dinner we did not have. They knocked on our door multiple times and any time we were in the common area throughout our first day and the following morning. This happened so many times that it brought me to tears and we ultimately paid the restaurant under duress.Meanwhile, the room itself was unbearably hot even after we turned off the heat, and the breakfast was disappointing.The restaurant reservation debacle aside, this hotel has a lot of potential but misses the mark. The location is great and the room was cute, however, the broken laundry, temperature control and mediocre breakfast are enough reasons to look elsewhere.

I had a wonderful experience at Utaimachi. This beautifully maintained ryokan is nestled in the heart of Kanazawa's most charming area. The staff went above and beyond to assist us throughout our stay, even preparing a takeaway breakfast for us on our last day when we had to leave way before breakfast time. Highly recommend for a perfect stay in Kanazawa enjoying the most traditional side of Japan.

Magnificent and traditional room fully equipped (washing machine, kitchen) with private sauna and bath.Small important downside is the very disturbing blowing of the ventilation which prevented us from sleeping a little (air conditioning essential in summer I suppose). Really a shame for this super well located room in the historic district.Be careful with the pillows: not great but like in many hotels in Japan.

Traditional structure in the Higashi chaya neighborhood. Extremely friendly staff who recommended us an excellent sushi restaurant. Very large room with sleeping area, kitchen, tatami area, bathroom equipped with all comforts. I recommend it to everybody

The staff is very good, the accommodation very pretty, all well located. But there is a big problem, the rooms which overlook the street are very poorly soundproofed. Thus, we will be woken up regularly throughout the night by people passing in the street.

Utaimachi's accommodation was exceptional. All of the staff were very helpful. The room was spacious, with 3 separate areas; sleeping, dining and relaxing. The breakfast was very generous, although only European option was offered. We would have liked to be able to choose a Japanese option on one day. The toilet, bath and aircon were all highly specced, but the instructions were difficult to follow. The online instructions were very basic.

Wonderful stay. Inn is on a quiet side street just off the main shopping and tea house street. We attended Geisha experience just around the corner and ate dinner and lunch in the vicinity, and enjoyed both meals. We loved staying in this traditional, yet modern Japanese apartment. Great service and breakfast.

It is a hotel with all the comforts but also the charm of a traditional Japanese accommodation. The breakfast is exceptional and the person speaks English and is very friendly. A good experience in Kanazawa.
