I loved my 3-night stay at the Shiro guest house, the owners are friendly and always available if you have any questions. The guest house is super clean and my room was very comfortable. I would come back without hesitation!

We stayed two nights in the bunk room. A small family hotel with a lot of charm. Impeccably clean. Small rooms but at least ours was extraordinarily well organized with a dressing table and another for dining or whatever. Excellent location to visit museums, parks and the center of Kanazawa in general. The owner couple does everything with care and delicacy.Available for common use: a kitchen, living room with tatami mats, refrigerator, washing machine. Perfect internet. It is important to be careful with noise, since it is an old house you can hear everything. We were lucky and slept with the rest of the guests without any problem.Probably the most charming hotel on our three-week trip to Japan.Thank you so much!

It was Obon, so everywhere in Kanazawa was crowded, but since we were staying for several nights, we didn't have too much of a schedule and just went to the restaurants recommended by Mr. Shiro and took a relaxing nap at the inn.The building and the personality of the owner and his wife were wonderful and made for a special memory.I would like to go to Kanazawa again in winter, so I would like to stay at Shiro-san then. It was such a wonderful inn that I wanted to come back again and again.

It was a very atmospheric guest house. The owner couple were also very kind. For a fee, you can borrow bath towels and a washer/dryer. However, it was a bit inconvenient that the toilet was not on the second floor where the room was. The shower room was also clean, but the dust in the circulator was a bit worrisome. The owner told me about delicious restaurants and cafes. It was great that there was a lot of information about Kanazawa in the files provided in the room. The character illustrations were also wonderful.

125 year old house with a beautiful interior. It's close to Kanazawa Castle and Kenrouken Gardens. The family that runs this establishment are very polite. You can rent pajamas, bikes and towels for a small fee. The showers are super comfortable and even have some sort of device that cools you off or dries you off that are in the showers. We had the queen room and the beds were comfortable. The walls are thin so it's important to be sensitive to how loud you are speaking. I think if you decide to stay here, take time sitting in the lounge. I had a lot of time to sit and enjoy peace and quiet with a cup of green tea. I would highly recommend this place. 11/10.

I would highly recommend staying here to anyone considering it! The owners are so kind, attentive and friendly. The entire guesthouse is spotless. I’ve never been anywhere cleaner. LGBTIQ+ Friendly.and the location is absolutely perfect for a few days in Kanazawa.Thank you for choosing such a high quality futon mattress!!If you are staying in the smaller double room, I recommend bringing earplugs for the traffic (especially if you are visiting during a peak holiday season)

I stayed here for one night on a trip. I was grateful for being able to store my luggage (and check in) in the morning. The explanation at check-in was thorough and they even gave us recommendations for lunch. Thank you for letting us keep our luggage after check-out.As you can see in the image, bath towels, pajamas, washing machines with dryers, and toothbrushes can be rented for a fee. You can also rent bicycles (there were about 4 beautiful mama's bikes) for a fee. We can also lend you umbrellas and rain boots. It was raining that day, but I was surprised at how thoughtful they were in providing newspapers to dry my shoes. In front of the room, there was a thin comforter, hot water bottle, and cushions that you could use freely. There were more outlets in the room than I expected, which I was grateful for.The hallway leading to the shower room (there are two) is cold in winter, but there is a heater in the changing room. Most other places are also equipped with air conditioning, so you can stay comfortably even in winter. As well as the room, the common spaces such as the shower room, toilet, and kitchen were also very clean and comfortable. In the evening, I was able to spend a relaxing time reading books and talking with friends in the living room while enjoying the hojicha (three types) that I could drink freely. If you read the guesthouse manual in the room or the book in the living room, you will learn about the history of the renovation of this guesthouse, the carpenter's commitment, and the construction of Kanazawa townhouses, which will deepen your understanding of the building. When the owner was not in the guesthouse, he would only be available by phone or text message, but he was very kind and warm.We had a peaceful time away from everyday life. thank you very much.
