Highly recommend! My friend and I stayed here because we wanted to experience a ryokan, and this one blew our expectations out of the water. From beginning to end, everyone we encountered was incredibly hospitable and friendly. Before our stay, I received an email with instructions and images on how to locate the shuttle that would take us to Hyakurakusou, which was super helpful. Once we arrived at the ryokan, we were greeted by Chika, who spoke basic English and was very sweet and welcoming. She gave us a thorough description of the facilities and led us to our room. The meals were delicious and filling; by the end, I was full but not uncomfortably so.

I stayed at a villa. As a hot spring hotel, it was a chlorine bath with a strong chlorine smell. Everyone was slow in the private bath in the morning, so it was hard to get a free bath. There were no soft drinks at the meal, so I was surprised at the ridiculous charges of 2,200 yen for a glass of tea and 800 yen for water. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious. It was after Todaya Shuhokaku, so it was starting to show its age. I didn't think it was worth the price. It was a shame because my child had taken the trouble to give me comfort.

Prices vary considerably depending on the day (the room I stayed in this time differed by up to just under 50,000 yen), so I think that also makes a difference in the evaluation. The amount of food provided is small compared to the price of accommodation, the futon is hard and hard to sleep on, and the sound of hot water from the open-air bath in the guest room bothers me when I try to sleep at night. It wasn't an experience worth the price.

My destination for this trip was Kanazawa with my father, who lives alone in the countryside. It is famous as the castle town of Kaga Hyakumangoku, and for my father, it was the place where he spent his student days. I aimed to visit not only famous spots but also places with personal memories as much as possible. This time I stayed at Hyakurakuso, a hidden inn for adults located in Kanazawa Yuwaku Onsen. Its biggest appeal is its convenient location, just 15 minutes by car from Kenrokuen, one of Japan's three most famous gardens. It has four private open-air baths, one of the largest in Hokuriku, and a private restaurant. The plan we used this time was to donate a portion of the accommodation fee to Noto Town, the disaster area. The suite, which has a living room, Japanese-style room, and twin bedroom, is extremely comfortable. The view of the blue mountains of Yuwaku and the starry sky from the open-air bath is also wonderful.Dinner served in a private room starts with steamed sweet shrimp habutae and steamed eel sushi. Beautiful dishes such as assorted seafood from the waters around Ishikawa and Noto beef in a stone hot pot with sansho pepper follow. For my father, I added a dish of hairy crab with shell miso, boiled, and steamed sushi. The duck jibu stew and the conger conger shabu-shabu seemed to suit my father's tastes and made him happy.I am glad that I was able to listen to my father's stories about his time in Kanazawa while enjoying delicious food. It seems that the place where the boarding house was located was in a shack, and because he had a hard time without money, he often asked his older sister for food. My father seemed to be enjoying himself as he talked about his memories, although he said that the area around Korinbo has changed from what it used to be.
