My family of four stayed here for one night on Saturday. I had made a reservation for the Zenigame course, which mainly consisted of river fish, but when I consulted with them the morning before about changing to Botan nabe, they agreed, but they said, ``I'll also ask you this, but if you arrive at 6 o'clock, they will not be able to serve you.'' ``I don't have time to take a bath, so I'd like you to come early.'' I understand what you're saying, but I wondered if I would have had a chance to tell them if I hadn't called them to change the menu.I arrived at 5:30 that day, and even though I was holding a toddler and carrying my luggage, the woman at the reception (landlady?) didn't help me and led me to the second floor empty-handed.The view from the room was decent, with a small river flowing below and a fresh green mountain beyond. There is no closet, and there is a rod in the corner of the room where you can hang hangers. Before dinner, I took a hot spring bath with my two children. I could hear the loud voices of multiple children coming from the men's bath. When I entered, I saw a grandfather, three grandchildren, and a man with tattoos who appeared to be the children's father. An Anpanman toy had been brought in, and my second daughter wanted to play with it, so when I chided her, the old man said, ``That's fine. He's from this store.'' I appreciate how kind they are, but I was a little surprised that someone with tattoos would be there during the hours when customers were allowed in.The hot water was flowing directly from the source, and the cypress bath was nice.We ate in the 300-year-old main building. Although it was separate from the hearth, it was a private room, which was good for families with small children. The botan nabe was made with miso and was delicious, along with the salt-grilled rockfish caught from the fish tank. However, the tempura shown in the photo on the website is not included in this course. The rice porridge at the end was also different from the photo, with only one egg for two adults.Someone mentioned it, but they didn't serve dessert either.Breakfast is too simple, with fried eggs and seaweed, and business hotels have more options. The atmosphere of the building, the surrounding environment, and the friendly old man are not bad, but the landlady? The curt customer service spoils these good aspects. There was a limit of three groups per day, and there was one other group besides us, but the rooms were next to each other, so I thought it would be nice to have one room in between.Smoking is not allowed indoors, but ashtrays in the hallway are a nuisance for smokers. This made me feel that 17,000 yen per person was a bit expensive.
