Unfortunately this hotel has seen better days. We stayed for two nights to explore the area and to relax in the onsen. Our room was quite nice and clean (Japanese style room) but the air conditioner did not work, which was okay because it was early October so not very hot. The outdoor onsen was picturesque but the inside onsen and changing areas seemed dirty. The service was good. The location was convenient and we walked to the visitor center and gondola area. The buffet had good selection but the food was not kept hot or cool, and I wondered if some of the things were safe to eat, but we were fine. The eating area was quite dirty and really took away from the experience. I would say 4/5 for location and room, but 2/5 overall because of the cleanliness and buffet. I expected a bit better for the price that we paid.

This is a review of the onsen specifically, as you can pay separately to use it even if you are not staying here. The price is 1600 yen, pretty steep if you ask me, but the pictures of the outdoor mixed use onsen looked nice.It was not nice. The area smelled of sulfur and there were bugs everywhere in the pool. The indoor onsen was even worse. The bath area was dingy and there were black stains on the bottom of the baths.I would have skipped this onsen even if it was included in my hotel.

I was a bit hesitant about the stay looking at the prior reviews, but my experience was nothing like that. The stay was extremely pleasant. The room was clean with all the facilities required. The twin room was big enough and the view was amazing. The location is perfect with a kombini close by and the bus stop, ropeway station and a couple of restaurants on walking distance. They also provided Yukatas for Onsen.Extremely satisfied with the stay.

It's super old and dirty. It feels like an old house from 20 years ago. The whole public space is very strange. The public bath is wet and slippery, and there are a lot of floating objects in the water. It's really disgusting. I don't think this is Japan and I won't live there again.

The large open-air hot spring bath was very nice, but I was disappointed that the reception at the hotel's front desk was not very friendly and the food was average.
