Excellent location within short walking distance of traditional Gion and the main shopping districts.Very comfortable western style beds with very friendly staff especially Fabiana a lovely Italian receptionist who really helped and looked after us.We had several hotels across our visit to Japan and the quality here was very relieving and familiar.

This hotel has an excellent location between downtown Kyoto and Gion. Comfortable bed and good sized room with a powerful shower. Only complaint would be lack of storage. No drawers and tiny hanging space. Did not have breakfast as up every morning at 6 so cannot comment on this. Bar lacked any atmosphere but the drinks were good.

Top hotel with a perfect location in Kyoto.Excellent breakfast for Europeans with slight compromises for the coffee. Very good service and nice room design. My recommendation is to book a double room for single use. It could be challenging for two people with a lot of luggage.

I had a fruit buffet for lunch. I enjoyed the variety of dishes that included fruit. There were many desserts and I was full. The atmosphere is also calm. Since the guest room is not in use, there is no rating.

A hotel where you can receive Banyan Tree treatments! So this time I decided to push aside my husband who loves hot springs. The room with only a shower room is innovative and looks like it's from overseas, and the view from the window is of an empty lot (new!)! Most of the guests were big Westerners, the air conditioning was freezing, and the smell of perfume was so strong that I felt like I was on a trip overseas (lol). The rooms are small but tastefully arranged and are comfortable with air conditioning and lighting settings that can be adjusted in detail. The shower has an overhead shower, which is great for spa lovers, and all the soaps have a nice tropical scent. It lathers quite a bit and my scalp hurt the second time I shampooed it, so be careful if you have sensitive skin. I usually carry all organic skin care and shampoo with me, but this time I had everything from my room! The mattress and pillows on the bed were soft and had a slightly strange feel. . .Also, since my room was near the elevator hall, I could hear a group of foreigners drinking and having fun, and it made me feel like I was in a foreign country (lol). And the breakfast was the best◎Fresh vegetables and fruits, and as expected from Kyoto, there was a variety of breads, and it was really delicious! The rice was dry and I didn't want people to think it was Japanese rice! My breakfast is rice and miso soup! I think you should choose another hotel. Also, although there is no dress code for the breakfast venue, it is a restaurant and the children are expected to be well behaved, so it was a culture shock and made me feel like I was traveling abroad. But even without going abroad, the treatment was great! As expected, it was the Banyan Tree of the world. Everyone in Japan, please give it a try!

There is nothing to fault about our experience at the Dhawa Yura Kyoto. From the early check-in (staff got us in early) to the check-out, we did enjoy our time there.  …
