The alkaline slimy hot spring meals with a pH of around 8 are delicious, but the portions are modest.

I made a reservation because it was located behind Nakayamadaira Onsen Station and looked like it would be convenient for train access, but when I visited, due to heavy rain in the Mogami region, the Rikuu Higashi Line west of Naruko Onsen had been suspended for a long time, so I rented a car. did. However, even before the suspension, it is a quiet section with only 6 round trips including special trains, so you will need to plan your trip carefully. The bath is only a small indoor bath with a washing area for only two people, but I was able to fully experience the slimy eel hot water that is unique to Nakayamadaira, which continues to flow even late at night. The hot water here was lighter than the Shintoro hot water and had a good feeling after bathing. The rooms are a little worn out and the toilets are shared, but the rooms in the hotel are well maintained and cleaned, and are sufficient for a hot spring treatment. We were served two simple, yet warm and delicious meals at a reasonable price. Although there is a large parking lot for the ryokan a little further away, I was instructed to leave my car keys at check-in, which I did, but the next morning they were transferred to the front of the ryokan and I was able to leave immediately. I was grateful for this as the weather was bad the day before, but some people may find it an unnecessary service for those who go out at night and don't want their car touched. The inn also accepted cashless payments, including various credit cards and barcode payments.

I stayed here because of the relatively high reviews, but I regret it. I knew there was no bath or toilet in the room, but it was simple enough to sleep in without a mirror or electric kettle. It would have been nice if I had received some warm hospitality, but I was surprised at how quickly I arrived and was told that I had to park in the wrong place, and the wheels of my carry-on bag were ostentatiously wiped with a rag.The bathtub was slimy and I almost slipped and fell. The only saving grace was that the food was pretty good, but I will never come again.

Stayed for 2 nights with breakfast. I enjoyed it very much. The food was amazing. Dinner would be from ¥3000-¥5000 per person. There is a shrine nearby. The train stop is right outside of the hotel. The onsen is very small and they switch between man and woman. It’s very relaxing. I used it both morning and night. Would like to visit again!
