Had an amazing stay at Chalet Ivy, a new modern ryokan with traditional feels. The room is very spacious with comfortable modern amenities, the in-room onsen, and the lush greenery views. The separate living and sleeping space is nice.Dinner and breakfast here are one of the best, the sequencing of dishes and the amount are just right. Your get to explore various dishes and each dishes are so meticulously done. One of the cute and best perks here are the lounge, the snack bar and drinks bar are awesome. Stocks with best Sapporo snack and drinks for you to grab at any time. The onsen water here lived to its reputation, the smell is not too much but the benefits is great. You can really feel your aching body heals fast.Definitely a very relaxing stay. I would love to be back.

The ryokan is right next to a river, that's basically the vibe. It's close to Sapporo (less than an hour), so it's fairly easy to get to. The rooms are modern and swanky, but the best part is they all have their own private onsen, which is an absolute dream. Like, soak in a steaming hot tub overlooking the mountains? Yes please!Speaking of dreamy, the food here is great. We had a teppanyaki meal. Farm-to-table goodness, nicely prepared, and the amount is pretty generous. We left with a very full stomach. 😬Breakfast portion is just right. Very locally selected source ingredients. The egg even has a tag 夢王 on it. It would be helpful if they have someone explain each dish or attached with a menu. The staff are on point too, super attentive and helpful without being overbearing. They really made the whole experience feel special.

I used it on my honeymoon.Since it was a luxury trip, it was quiet, the food was delicious, and the cleaning was thorough. However, some of the foreign staff's behavior was unsatisfactory, and I thought it would be better if we were more considerate when talking to them. I am not dissatisfied with the hiring of foreigners, but I feel that other staff members should follow suit, so I am giving it 4 stars.Since it is far from the center, I think it would be better to rent a car. There may also be buses.

It was my first time to eat such delicious, tender and juicy trout. What’s even more amazing was the long-awaited umeboshi, which cost 300 yen per piece.
