Absolutely fantastic and definitely worth recommending. The most beautiful personal service and wildly cozy and delicious rooms. Can definitely compete with even the finest hotels (we came from Hoshinoya and Kimpton)

Loved staying in this accommodation. It is set up like a villa with a small seating area and bathroom downstairs with the sleeping area up a small flight upstairs. Especially enjoyed the private onsen which was wonderful after a day of walking around the city. The room was very comfortable and quiet, despite being located off one of the busier streets in Kyoto. Appreciated the friendly staff as well as a nice guest lounge that offers coffee, tea, and some juices open to the guest at all times.

We came to Japan for our honeymoon and wanted to experience something traditional. This was the best place, the staff are lovely and the room we stayed in is beautiful! We had our own private garden and a semi open air bath. The tea and snacks are delicious and it’s in a wonderful area.

A magical and special stay for us. This was a treat for ourselves during our two week trip in Japan and we had a wonderful time with the experiences, friendly staff, and beautiful room. Our room had an inner garden and private onsen that was unique and a highlight of our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and accomodated our limited Japanese to explain everything. From our welcome drinks, to a tasty late night snack, and wonderful breakfast, it was truly a delight to experience it all. We would love to return as soon as we can.

I stayed here one night with my husband in the middle of our Japan trip and it was the perfect environment to relax and reset. The rooms are very spacious and relaxing. Our room had a small garden that opened to the outside roof and I spent a lot of time just relaxing in nature. We also happened to stay on a rainy day so the vibes were immaculate. We had the dinner service with sukiyaki beef and also had the breakfast service, both were really nice and I enjoyed the conversation with the staff.Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a place to relax and reset!

Good amenities, great options for breakfast/dinner, albeit a little expensive. The bath (spa) was surprisingly relaxing and a good addition. Located very close to the K-Line, it’s easy to reach Kyoto Station and going for a run in the Imperial Palace grounds was very nice too.

We could enjoy a day in this luxuriously renovated Machiya. Best suite room ever: courtyard, comfortable bad for two outside, WC and shower separated like in a traditional Japanese House… Amazing. …
