It is about a 5-minute walk from JR Umekoji Kyoto Nishi Station. I told the store that I would arrive early. The store is very kind. The room is an antique Japanese-style building and is also very clean. I will visit again if I have the opportunity.

Easily the best place we've stayed all holiday. You get a very authentic traditional feel here, and all the benefits you'd get from a modern hotel! The staff were so friendly and up for a chat when you wanted. The room was very spacious and comfortable.

Before check-in, I told the store owner that I would arrive at 6 p.m. The store owner was very kind and had no problem communicating in English. He would introduce the room and public facilities. When we went out for dinner that day, he talked to us about where to eat and helped us. I recommend an izakaya that is often visited by locals. The room is very warm and cozy, and the tatami is also very comfortable to sleep on. I will visit again if I have the opportunity☺️☺️👍👍

This hostel is located a few minutes walk from Umekoji Kyoto-Minami Station, which is one stop from Kyoto Station on the Sagano Line. The Sagano Line is close to Kyoto Station, and there are many popular Kyoto sightseeing spots along the line. The location of this hostel is very convenient for sightseeing. The convenience store is located at Umekoji Kyoto Minami Station, so you won't have any trouble shopping. The guest room I stayed in was structured like a Western-style maisonette, with a toilet, shower booth, wash basin, etc. on the first floor near the entrance, and a bedroom on the second floor. There also seems to be a Japanese-style room. I didn't stay in a Japanese-style room, so I don't know the details. My room was clean, and the toilet and shower booth were spotless. The refrigerator was twice the size of a typical business hotel, but the size of a small household. The room could be locked, so I was able to leave my luggage there.Wifi connection was also possible. Network speed was adequate. I took a lot of photos on this trip, and being able to sync them all to cloud storage was a huge help. My VPN and remote connections to my home network were uninterrupted. The purpose of this trip was to take a cosplay photo shoot.Hostel Ayame-sama proposed and arranged a cosplay photo shoot plan for us. Over the course of 2 days and 1 night, I was able to visit some of the most scenic locations in Kyoto Prefecture and have the opportunity to take cosplay photos. All cosplay photography outside of the photo studio requires permission from the property manager. Hostel Ayame handled the permit application and negotiations, and provided transportation to and from the location. When I do cosplay shoots myself, I contact and make arrangements to obtain permission to use the shooting location. Ayame-sama did the work that required a lot of effort. The location matched the worldview of our work very well, and the shoot was more satisfying than we expected. These locations were places we couldn't have reached on our own.Along the way, we learned about many shops and historical events that only locals in Kyoto know about, as well as related shops, temples, and shrines. We were provided with an experience and service that was many times better than we expected in advance.Thank you very much for the wonderful experience.I would like to use Hostel Ayame again next time.
