Maps showed the hostel was a 12-15 minute walk from Hakata station. What it didn't show was that the hostel was inside a shopping arcade, the Kawabata Shopping Arcade. I loved that! …

good points)There is an arcade, so it's easy to get around even on rainy days. There are many restaurants, so food is not a problem.Bad points)I stayed in a private room, but the cleaning staff entered the room without permission and collected trash while I was out.The next day, when I was in my room, I heard a knock and a man's voice said, ``Cleaning'', so I thought it was garbage collection, so I told him through the door that I didn't need it, but I guess he couldn't hear me over the noise of the vacuum cleaner, so I unlocked the door without permission. He came in. Fortunately, when I opened the door, she loudly refused, so I left, but it was very unpleasant as the room was small and the only place to change was in front of the door. When I checked in or made a reservation on the app, I was never told that if I was not there to collect garbage, I would unlock the door and enter without permission. I just found someone who had the same experience in another review, so please be careful if you are staying in a private room (I have never stayed in a large room, so I don't know). There is a bath mat, but it is outside the unit bath. It's not next to the bathtub. So after every shower I have to wipe the floor next to the bathtub. It's difficult because it's narrow. There was no TV, no amenities, towels for one night only, and you had to make your own bed...I read the explanation and made the reservation, so I have no complaints. However, my first hostel didn't suit me and I thought it was worth the price.

THE MOST- The hostel is very well located in the center, right in the arcades and 1 minute walk from the Hakataya Kawabata restaurant, a very decent and super cheap ramen restaurant, the cheapest of my 1 month stay in Japan: 290 yen for ramen (or 470 yen for a large version), in June 2024. The dormitories and bathrooms were rather clean.- They allocated me a bed downstairs following my request upon arrival (if available). The bed is relatively large, the duvet soft and the pillow correct. There is a small entrance on the side with a curtain, which makes it a sort of small cabin with privacy. I was at the bottom in a corner, it was perfect, I don't know if I fell well or if it was the same for the beds. Same for the small window on the side with my bed. The bed is equipped with a socket on the wall on the side, a small magnifying glass and two hangers. There was a small portable air conditioning in the dormitory, the temperature was ok. There are several sinks in the hallway, two showers and two toilets. No waiting problems anyway, I don't know if it's the season that requires that.- There are common areas, with a few tables and games, a kitchen with fridge and cooking utensils. But I didn't use any of that to judge.- By booking a little in advance (for June), I managed to get a price of 2500 yen per night, and 2700 yen for the 2nd night. It is more expensive than other hostels in Japan, especially in other big cities like Osaka. But it remains one of the cheapest in Fukuoka, so not really a negative aspect for this hostel. Note that you must also pay a tourist tax of 200 yen per night upon arrival, but this is a priori the rule everywhere in Fukuoka.POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS- There is a sort of small safe to keep things safe, and they provide a padlock with it. But there is no room to put a backpack there. I put mine on the side of the bed as a result, even though it's not ideal from a safety point of view.- I arrived around 10 a.m. but I didn't get the bed at that time, I had to wait until 2 p.m. You can, however, leave your backpack in a dedicated room during the day.- The receptionist didn't really give any explanations about the hostel, e.g. the laundry upstairs, what was available in the common area (kitchen, etc.), nor even the recommendations for Fukuoka (I don't I noticed only too late that there were some posted on the wall). It's a shame not to mention it when it finally arrives.

This is a dormitory inn located in a shopping district two stops from Hakata Station! It's cheap and close to Nakasu and Tenjin!

The location is great! It’s right inside the Kawabata Arcade. It’s near Kushida Shrine and Nakasu Kawabata Subway. It’s also beside the bridgeway going to Canal City.Everything is accessible from here. If you like walking, Hakata and Tenjin are about 15-20mins walk. The dorm is great too! The curtain adds privacy.

The location is in the shopping district, convenient for shopping. At night, the staff members were having a drinking party on the first floor and it was quite noisy. Not suitable for people who want a quiet rest. It was a shame. There is a communal refrigerator, tea service, and luggage storage service.

The hostel is located in the market. The journey is very comfortable. The price is quite high compared to the room you get.

I made a reservation in advance and stayed for 60,000 won including tax for 2 nights during peak season at the end of July. It's friendly and the location is good, but the facilities are a bit outdated. The man named Yusuke is really kind. Thanks to you, I had a good rest.
