The staff are kind and courteous. The rice is delicious and the rooms are very clean. There were some dissatisfied reviews, but this is a remote island. And it's not a resort hotel. It's full of nature and there are at least small ants.In the summer, you can see kanabun flying towards the lights. And for those who don't like it, there are various insecticide sprays available.``The sashimi grunt was crispy. ”There was a review.I haven't seen the grunt, but I think it's probably misunderstood.I don't think it's a freshly caught grunt.but!I'm sure the grunt sashimi with the skin came out.White fish such as grunt tastes much better after 2 to 3 days.Although the region is different, Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture is famous for Naruto sea bream.Hotels serve freshly caught sea bream. However, fishermen generally do not eat freshly caught fish at home. This is because leaving it in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days increases the amino acid content and makes it much more delicious. This is also common among us anglers.(*Some fish taste better when freshly caught!)I bought a sea bream at the supermarket,Wrap it tightly in a sheet (you can buy it on Amazon) and let it sleep before eating it.The same goes for tuna salmon. How long to let the sheet sit in the refrigeratorSea bream = 7 hours (as per your preference)Tuna = 5 hours (as per your preference)The text has become longer.I have traveled to many places,I think this Shimajuku Goen-san is an inn worthy of a ★5 rating.

This is a great accommodation with great facilities, food, and service. The owner, Mr. Taiyo, was wonderful, and I felt that the staff were drawn to him as well. Mr. …

I think this is the perfect inn to use as a base for casual cycling sightseeing.Ojika Island is said to have many flat roads, but there are quite a few gentle ups and downs, which would be difficult to ride on a regular bicycle, but the owner also rents bicycles, so I was able to get around quickly after checking in.The facilities in the room were new, and the casual dining style suited me very well. The island would probably become more famous if it had hot springs, but I had such a relaxing trip that I could forget the hustle and bustle of the city.

I wanted to experience the island feel, so I was thinking of staying in a guest house, but due to my personality, I thought that I wouldn't be able to relax if I communicated too much, so I gave up on a guest house and decided to stay at this island inn, Goen. I was allowed to.The plan is 2 nights with dinner and breakfast included. In conclusion, it was a great decision to include meals. There are several restaurants on the island, but the ones I researched online beforehand are no longer there, or they close at 3pm, and especially after the evening, there are only small pubs. When I got hungry after traveling around the island, there were very few restaurants where I could eat Tarafuku rice, so having dinner and breakfast included was a real relief. As for the food, it's not the luxurious sashimi you'd find at a ryokan, but rather a home-cooked meal. I was very satisfied with the rich variety of meals that I would never have imagined at home. Usually, they serve seafood, but the staff told me that during my stay, they couldn't catch any fish on the barge, so the meals would be mainly meat and vegetables instead. It was given to me. It was a moment when I felt the reality of the island.Free refills of white rice. All the meals were absolutely delicious. I was especially shocked by how delicious the bean sprout namul was.It was somewhat refreshing to see local workers coming in and out of the inn just to eat.The room was a Japanese-style room with an unbreakable IKEA chair. Smoking areas are at the front entrance and at the back entrance in the middle of the hallway. You can see the ocean from the front entrance, so you can enjoy a luxurious experience on the island. There is a vending machine at the front entrance that also sells alcohol. There are no convenience stores and a supermarket is a long walk away, so I'm really grateful for this vending machine.Regarding the method and time required to get around the island, I rented an electric bicycle from the hotel and toured around the island. It took me 5-6 hours to complete the trip, including Madarashima. The island is full of hills, so electric bicycles are definitely best. Even electric cars have tough roads (lol)If you are financially able or have a short stay, it may be a good idea to rent a moped at the port or rent a car. The island looks narrow but is wide. Also, Madarashima seems a little far away, but you should definitely go there. As a side note, Nagasakihana and Pothole were spectacular views that will remain in your memory. It's an incredible Instagrammable spot that the public doesn't know about.Since it was the off-season, there were almost no tourists on the island. There was only one other person staying at the hotel besides me.Although I was traveling alone, Shimajuku Goen was very nice.

I went here on Thanksgiving. There are lots of features here, such as Japanese style Tatami rooms, the bathrooms are clean (unlike our house) and the staff is friendly and international. Some people speaking English, especially the owner. Near the Inn is a karaoke bar where you can stay there late at night. There are bikes and scooters for rent, perfect for roaming around Ojika Island. Plus, the most amazing thing, it is near the port. Japanese food is very yummy. I am starving ~

I was grateful for the transportation to the port. I felt very welcome. Luggage storage OK. The room I stayed in didn't have a view, but the bathtub was large and I could stretch my legs. It is about 1 km from the ferry terminal.Regular bicycles can be rented for free. Electric version costs 1800 yen. I think electric is the best way to get around the island. There are also buses on the island. 200 yen per time. You can also go to Madarashima. There aren't many. Also, for the Old Nozaki Church, you need to make a reservation at least one week in advance with the tourist association. We go there by boat, but there is only one round trip a day. Apparently it will be repaired from November, so please call!
