Great guest house, very cosy and with a lovely common room with complimentary tea and coffee and views to Dejima. Next to Chinatown and also to excellent transport links to other places of interest in Nagasaki. …

I stayed here on 6-7 January 2024. It was a simple guesthouse located near Dejima. It only has 4 beds for women and 4 beds for men in seperate room. It has one shower room, a laundry facilites, a kitchen, a restroom, and a small yet lovely common room. I met friendly travelers there and since it was not so big, we could talk to each other. The owner was also very kind and helped me when I had trouble checking in. I would love to come back to Nagasaki and visit here.

I usually only leave reviews when people ask me to do so, but this time it’s an exception! Takako - the owner - didn’t ask me anything, but she welcomed me with such a genuine warmth and made me feel so comfortable that it touched me! Not only I had a great sleep (so comfortable), but also felt relaxed in the guesthouse. I was able to get good rest and practice brewing delicious coffee!I totally recommend ☺️

Host was super friendly and had good tipps for food and places to visit.Beds are good and you have enough storage space for your stuff and a personal locker. The lobby is cool to sit-down and have a chat with the host or the other guests.Only small down-side is the single shower for up to 8 guests.

I’ve reviewed this guesthouse before, following my first stay, though I would like to follow up after staying here three more times. This is my 2nd review, so consider this rating to be a 10/5. Scroll to the bottom for a TL;DR.Five times I have visited Nagasaki, & four of those visits I was fortunate enough to stay at this guesthouse. Having visited thirty-nine of Japan’s prefectures, the list of hostels, guesthouses & hotels I have visited is long. This one is my Number One, & it will always be my Number One; I don’t think I will ever find a guesthouse owner like Takako-San at any other place I ever stay at, anywhere in the world (If anyone reading knows of such a place, please let me know!). She always made me feel like I was the only guest to stay there, & I always enjoyed our tradition of going to Carpe Diem Cafe. We shared many other adventures, among them riding over to her other property & helping her fold sheets, eating Okonomiyaki at a nearby restaurant, watching a local band play in front of Dejima, even going to a laundromat once. We rented kimonos & walked around Dejima, something I would’ve never done on my own. When my mother flew over to Japan to visit, I said “We must go to Nagasaki, so you can meet Takako-San!” &… she did. My real Mom was able to meet my Japanese Mom, it was a great time.Checking out at the end of my last stay was the saddest thing ever, but, in a good way. At some point in the future, I will make it back to Nagasaki for a 6th visit, & hopefully, hopefully, my 5th stay here. The check-in process was always smooth, the beds were comfy (At least, Bed #2 in the Mixed Dormitory was, that was actually the only bed I was ever in, four times. Really), the shower was always clean, everything was fine. Small lockers are also provided. The door to the sink & toilet can squeak a little if one isn’t careful, so consider this during night time. The living room is probably my favorite room in all of Japan, so cozy!Your mileage may vary, but I’m doubtful you will regret staying here (The main takeaway: If Takako-San invites you somewhere, you never say no!)TL;DR: Reserve a stay here, the owner is my favorite person in Japan.スペインかぜオムレツ🤪🥰ありがとうございます, 孝子さん!

✅️ Location, coziness, cleanlynessAlmas GH is idealy situated in the center of Nagasaki. Everything is accessible by walk of tram. There are nice izakaya and acco near the place. The GH is cozy, simple and 100% clean. You'll feel at home! This is a small guesthouse, so great to discuss with other travelers. Even more in the common, which is just at the perfect size. The staff is VERY kind, helpful, you won't regret it.Again, THANK YOU for this perfect stay!⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: the GH is on the 3rd floor (4F) of the building, without elevetor. So have it in mind if you have huge luggage or have difficulties with stairs

The location is very convenient, and once you get to the guest house you will feel that it is very cozy. As every other review says, the owner is very kind. I could only spend 2 nights here but I'd have liked to spend more.I liked very much that if the guest house is fully booked it would still be 8 guests only. For me that makes it feel more cozy and warming.

Wonderful hidden gem overlooking Dejima. The best is a graceful owner who seems to embody the authentic Japanese hospitality. I truly enjoyed her gentle yet ever helpful presence. Stairs is an obstacle but it's well worth the effort.
