The meal was very sumptuous and I had some dishes I had never eaten before. During the meal, I was able to hear various stories from the host. The area is still on the road to recovery. I will definitely visit again to show my support.

Stunning location next to the ocean, you can hear the waves in the beach and see the sun rise from your bedroom window. Friendly funny hosts were very helpful and although we had to use Google translate to communicate it was fine. The food was amazing, more than we could eat!

The owner and the landlady were both very nice. They were kind even though I had to rush in at night due to touring, and they even prepared breakfast for me. The ocean view, Sanriku Railway view, and the sound of the waves were just amazing! The bike was stored in the garage. Thank you very much for seeing me off at the end and making it a very enjoyable trip.

This is a traditional minshuku, something analogous to a family-run roadside inn. The Sato family runs it, and does a great job making travellers feel welcome (or at least they did for me!). I opted to explore a little for dinner, but the included breakfast was fantastic and reminded me of times I've spent staying with Japanese families. The area of Namiita is lovely and there's enough to explore locally to merit a night or two here as part of a journey down the Sanriku Rias train line. One item of note is that English support is limited - one family member can assist in bookings in English, but on-site you'll need to either have basic Japanese or lean on your translator app of choice. On the plus side, there must be a cell tower close by because I had great internet speeds throughout my visit. Also, staying at a minshuku needs a bit of understanding of Japanese homestay customs: you set up your own futon, the bath is available at night and access needs to be coordinated, breakfast is scheduled, etc. For me, it's part of the charm of visiting areas away from the big cities and experiencing a little bit of Japanese home life, but it might not be for everyone. All in all this was a great pit stop as I traveled down the coast, and I'd like to make special mention of th Sato family warning me to take an early train to avoid potential line closures due to a thunderstorm that hit while I was there. I appreciated the help, and heartily recommend giving this inn and area a shot if you find yourself in the vicinity. Thanks for a great stay!

This place is amazing! It's located right by the beach and about 5 min walk from the train station. Our room is large and super clean with a beautiful view of the ocean. The hosts are so friendly and attentive. We struggled with speaking Japanese but they were warm to welcome us and helped us enjoy our time here.We also reserved meals during our stay and they are delicious! So much good and fresh foods. If you have heard of the wind phone booth and want to visit, this inn is the perfect place to stay to relax and rest.We love this place so much that we will visit again next time we are in Japan.

The host was very friendly and I had a very enjoyable stay.Dinner was also very delicious, plentiful and satisfying. I was particularly surprised by the size of the sea-grilled scallops that I had never seen before. There were three types of local sake, all of which were delicious and a must-have dinner for sake lovers. It was my first time on a short trip with my parents in several decades.I am grateful that I was able to stay at the guesthouse.

Stayed as a minshuku explorer. An inn where you can experience the happiness and warmth of the sea. It was comfortable.
