The hotel staff are very friendly, the meals are delicious, and the service staff are also very enthusiastic about introducing the meals. The overall experience is great (beautiful gardens, comfortable restaurants, clean and comfortable guest rooms...). I will want to come here next time I have the opportunity.

I headed there on foot from Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station, but walking along the road turned into a long detour. It's almost time to go through the shopping center and head for Shirayanagisou. There are not many places to eat around the hotel, and convenience stores are 4-500 meters away. The building is a little old, but the rooms face the Japanese garden. I was able to spend a comfortable time in the calm and modern Japanese interior. The large public bath at the back of the first floor was a free large bath, which was disappointing. If this area were improved, the impression would rank up. Breakfast was a simple Japanese set meal, but it was delicious. I only passed through Yanagawa, but the moat and townscape evoked a sense of nostalgia, and I would like to spend more time there next time.

Didn't get a photo of the bedroom but we have got the japanese style room with bed and breakfast for two. The room was clean and spacious. Seems like it was just renovated. Great size for the price. Service by the staff was top notch and breakfast was really really good. They have a public onsen for guest which was a good touch to the ryokan. Centrally located as well. 100% recommended as a place to stay if you're in Yanagawa.

We stayed for one night in Yanagawa on our way to Kumamoto from Fukuoka. The highlight of this hotel is their genuine hospitality. You can feel the staff really want you to enjoy your stay. They welcome their guests by having their names on a board at the entrance and the staff there actually remembers their guests well!We also love this hotel’s location for its proximity to the Yanagawa Canals and Yanagawa Shopping Mall. The hotel has plenty of free parking for its guests and we appreciate that a lot! The breakfast was beyond our expectation and the lady gave us a table with beautiful view of their garden. There are all kinds of local artwork around the hotel too!We booked for the western style room online and unfortunately the wifi signal was so poor that we couldn’t do our work. We contacted the reception and the lady, who is very polite and can speak English, helped us out! Based on availability, she generously offered us to upgrade to a big Japanese room for the night. We deeply thank the hotel for this :)

I got off at the deserted Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station and arrived by taxi (about 700 yen), worried that I would be staying at an inn on the outskirts of the area. Surprisingly, it's a fine medium-sized inn. The room is old, but you can enjoy the view of the garden. It seems that renovations are underway in several places, including a new restaurant and new toilets in the rooms. The best part is that the dinner was delicious and that there is a chef who understands the taste. I made a reservation online for a cheaper plan that included dinner, and it turned out to be the right choice.Dinner was appetizers, steamed eel, and liver soup. First of all, the draft beer is very delicious. The appetizers have completely different tastes, such as shrimp mayo, stewed octopus, and eel bone crackers, and are snacks that go well with alcohol. The steamed bamboo basket was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness, spiciness, and umami. Rather than eating eel, the hot rice with eel sauce is delicious. The Shisho plum wine and ginjo sake were also delicious. The question is, if I want to eat a little more, can I order something extra? I went out of my way to ask and they brought me a menu. The usual food should be placed on the table from the beginning and explained before the meal. Everything I ordered from here, including the Ariake Sea delicacies and shrimp mayo salad, was delicious. Also, the mattress was a senbei futon, which seemed to hurt my lower back, so I solved the problem by taking a mattress out of the closet and sleeping with it under the mattress. Also, the changing room at the bathhouse was cold, so I wanted it to be warmed up. It was an overall recommended inn.
