I like private hot springs.Dinner mainly includes seafood. The location is far from major tourist attractions, but the advantage is that it is quiet.

I chose it because it was close to Beppu Station to reduce travel distance.First of all, the garden is really, really nice.(I don’t know if all rooms have a garden view)There are three private baths, and you can reserve them after check-in.Available for 50 minutes eachI was satisfied, so I stayed from 5pm to the next morning.I stayed at the ryokan all along. Is it possible to select a dinner menu on the ryokan website?Agoda & Booking.com does not allow selection. The menu seems to change slightly depending on the season. The rice is the best I've had in Japan.Local sake is highly recommended, but the quantity may be a bit small.(I recommend not expecting much from breakfast)As of July 24, there are staff who can speak English.significantNo going out after 11pm, no children allowed.

Even though it was peak season, we were the only customers staying at the ryokan. Maybe that's why there were no staff, so I thought it was too much. You can only see the staff when checking in and checking out! This is the case ㅜㅜThe ryokan was very old and only one towel was provided per person, which was inconvenient! I think the best maintained part of the ryokan is the bathroom. I made a reservation because the blog reviews were good, but it was a mistake. I have been to several ryokans, but I am disappointed! Don't be fooled by the photo and do more research.

I stayed in a room at a private ryokan in May.The room was spacious, but there were a lot of mosquitoes in a private ryokan, and bugs came out of the room.I asked if it was possible to have breakfast early because of the bus schedule, but it was not possible because the breakfast time was fixed.I think Yufuin ryokans are much better.

Not recommended.・When I asked to store my luggage before check-in, there was no one at the reception desk and the lights were on.I had no choice but to go to the back of the inn to look for the employee and found someone cleaning inside the guest room. The hostess called for me and I was able to leave my luggage safely, but this is the first time I've been to an inn with such poor customer service.・I had high expectations for dinner since it was advertised as a Japanese style inn, but the taste and appearance were too ordinary and nothing to write home about.A foreign girl and the landlady serve the meals. It was unpleasant to be able to hear their small talk and sermons across the wall. Also, while eating, they are observed from a distance from the table, and the plate is lowered as soon as they finish eating, making it impossible to enjoy the meal or conversation at a leisurely pace.・The room is not cleaned properly. There were used tea leaves from the previous user in the teapot, which was disgusting.・I was supposed to receive a cash voucher because I stayed there using the regional recovery campaign after the coronavirus pandemic, but I was not given any information when I checked out. I spent 15 minutes checking to see if it was covered, but was told it wasn't. I left the inn feeling confused.Later, the travel agency informed me that they had not been able to give me the voucher due to the inn's clumsiness, and asked me if I could give them my contact information as they would like to get in touch with the inn.The e-mail I received from the inn was so strange that I couldn't believe it was typed by a Japanese person. After several exchanges, they agreed to guarantee me cash by registered mail. The registered cash envelope that arrived contained no letter or anything, just cash. I'm not asking for an apology, but I think the inn doesn't allow for heartfelt exchanges in the Japanese way.As mentioned above, I don't think this is a place you should go to in search of peace and warm customer service.I chose this ryokan because it was near the station and had a room with an open-air bath, but there are better inns in a slightly different location, so please think carefully before making a reservation.

I'm incredibly grateful for the staff helping me out despite my limited Japanese. And also for working around my dietary restrictions - very nutritious and tasty breakfast, from pickled veggies to more savory soups and tofu. The ryokan is very spacious, tastefully decorated, with serene views of the garden. Extremely clean with a private toilet, too! Excellent location by the buses and train station and less than ten minute walk to the main shopping street with a plethora of bars and restaurants. There are THREE private baths/onsens for you to use. And the team at the ryokan were excellent - from taking me on a tour of the building, to walking me thru breakfast and the procedures on the stay. Great value and it still felt very luxurious. Thank you for making my time memorable in Beppu!

This was the best place during my trip to Japan. The meal was really delicious and the service from the staff was really good. I definitely want to visit again on my next trip. Both my grandmother and my parents loved it. Recommended for those who want to relax comfortably in a traditional Japanese house. It was a quiet neighborhood, so it was nice to feel the quiet atmosphere.Beppu Station is a short walk away, and there are many restaurants and bars.
