I stayed with him for my birthday. The townscape of Yunohira Onsen is very atmospheric, and we could see lanterns lit up in the evening and fireflies, which are unique to this time of year, in the nearby river. At Takaoso, we had a plan that included dinner and breakfast, and we were able to fill our stomachs with seasonal ingredients, Oita's famous beef, and delicious rice. Since it was my birthday, I prepared a whole cake, and the cake was also very delicious. When I asked about it, I was told that it was a cake shop called ``Gin no Aya'' in Yufuin. The hot springs also require reservations, and they last about 30 minutes, but since there aren't many overnight stays, I was able to take a relaxing bath. Above all, I was very happy with the warmth and kindness of the people at the inn. It was a really wonderful time.

Hinoki cypress and open-air bath. The temperature and atmosphere of the two types of family baths were good, and I was able to relax slowly. It was the right temperature for me. …

I was traveling alone and stayed one night on a Saturday with breakfast and dinner included. The room was a corner room on the second floor, with two windows facing the river and a private house. In addition, the room had a toilet (washlet) and washroom.Generally speaking, there is a low table and chairs, but when I told them that I had trouble with my legs, I was glad that they provided me with a low chair.A small freezer/refrigerator is located in the hallway. It's not that big, so if you put things like refrigerated souvenirs or 4-go bottles of shochu in it, it might get quite full.It may be unavoidable due to the location, but small insects and ants are invading the building. They keep coming into the room, so I sprayed the insecticide provided in the room under the door on the hallway side to prevent them from entering. The reason is unknown, but the hallway on the second floor is filled with the smell of a kitchen during cooking, so it may be that they are attracted to it.Regarding baths, there are two private baths. At check-in, please let us know your desired bath and bathing time and we will make adjustments accordingly. On that day, there were 3 groups of guests including me, so we were able to enter 3 times: before dinner, after dinner, and the next morning. The spring quality is a sodium spring with a high content of hydrogen carbonate, and is somewhat slimy.Judging from the ingredient list, it should contain carbonic acid, but I didn't notice any foaming. The quality of the spring water probably changes somewhat due to the distance from the source. The open-air bath is a rock bath, and half of it is covered, so you can use it even on rainy days. However, the floor of the bathroom is made of stone and is somewhat uneven, so you need to be careful where you step. There are no handrails in the bathtub, so please be careful as well. The other cypress bath is an indoor bath, and the floor is made of smooth stone, so it is easier to walk around than the open-air bath, but there are some parts that are a little slippery due to the quality of the hot springs, so I think you need to be careful there. .The food wasn't that fancy, but I was happy to be able to eat hot food while it was still hot.He also explained the dishes for both breakfast and dinner. As for alcohol, we have it all. The cold sake was said to be original to Yunohira Onsen, but the shochu was only a common brand.By the way, perhaps because there are no vending machines in the facility, beverages including alcohol can be provided at times other than dinner if you ask at the front desk (until around 9:30 pm).As for ice, it costs 300 yen if you order it alone, so it might be better to order it with some kind of drink (shochu, etc.) (There doesn't seem to be a shop where you can buy ice in Yunohira Onsen) So)We were provided with a shuttle to and from Yunohira Station. It was a small van that could seat about 6 people, so if you have a lot of luggage or people, I think it's better to contact us in advance. There are community buses in Yufu City, but they run only on certain days of the week and infrequently, so I don't think they can be used for at least weekend trips.Overall, I think this is an inn with a good balance of price and service.

I stayed here to make memories during Golden Week. It was the best inn, with delicious food, private hot springs, and a kind hostess, as well as a place that felt like the setting of a movie or novel. We looked at the beautiful mountains from our old-fashioned room, listened to the murmuring of the river, and played shogi that was in the room. It's a very good memory. In the evening, I took a walk around the hot spring town of Yunohira. Although only a few shops were open, the hot spring town was warmly illuminated by red lanterns and electric lights that looked like they came out of a Ghibli movie, giving it an atmospheric feel. This is an inn that I would like to stay at again.

I think this is a ryokan where the service is perfect in every aspect, including the attentiveness of the landlady. The Okuya is by no means new, but it is thoroughly cleaned and clean, with not a single speck of dust left. And best of all, the food was delicious.Hot items were served hot and cold items were served cold to go with the freshly cooked rice.I found that the miso soup for breakfast was carefully made from the dashi stock. The quality of the hot springs is as expected from Yunohira Onsen. There were two of us staying there, and both of us were smiling from beginning to end, and we were very satisfied with our stay at Takaoso.Next time I will visit during the fireflies season.Thank you for your great service 😊

Although the rooms are old, they are kept well-maintained and have a clean feel. For bathing, reservations are required and you can choose from two hot springs. This is also interesting and satisfying. The hospitality was wonderful and the food was very delicious. After taking a bite, I quickly ordered more sake. The rice was delicious and I ended up having a lot of refills, which made me feel hungry.Due to the heavy rains of the past day, the surrounding hot spring town seems to be doing its best to stay open in a somewhat quiet atmosphere. There is a point in supporting the hotel, but I would like to give it my thumbs up that it was a good hotel even if I gave up on that.I had a satisfying time on the last night of my Kyushu solo touring. Thank you very much.
