Kyushu Onsen Road ♨️ 400 yen 🅿️ FreeThe natural hot springs spread out next to the river and the scenery is spectacular.The hot springs are colorless and transparent, the bathtub is spacious, and the floor is made of natural stones, giving it a wild feel.It's a mixed bathing open-air bath, but there are quite a few women as well.The temperature is low, so it may be cold outside of summer.

I visited it because it is one of the 88 hot springs in Kyushu.I hadn't done any homework, so I didn't realize it was a mixed bath. There seems to be an indoor bath for women only, but for men there is only an open-air bath with a wall bath. I think many people have written about it, but it's quite lukewarm. I think it's cool in the summer.It's a short walk from the changing room to the bathtub, so you'll need some courage.There were two women there when I visited, and I didn't feel like I was getting into hot water.Honestly, I think it's enough to experience it once.

Visited on a day trip. I was a little confused about where to park my car, but ended up parking in a public parking lot. Take off your clothes in a simple enclosed changing room and soak in the hot water. When you pick up the sand under your feet, you'll see large bubbles come out, which tells you that the hot springs are a valuable source of water. I didn't intend to stay long, but since it was a private hot spring bath and the water was extremely comfortable, I ended up soaking for about an hour until the next customer arrived.

You can stay in the lukewarm hot springs forever. It's located on the bank of the river, and you can enjoy the great outdoors. However, while it's good that there isn't a washing area, the changing room is too rustic and I wish it was a little more neat.

I am the proprietress of Fukumotoya.Regarding Shimanyan's post, I am very sorry for causing you an unpleasant experience. I was suddenly upset.When I reported this to the owner of the building, he told me that he had mistakenly seen red clay on the wall before when it had peeled off and fallen into the bathtub. Since it is a natural cave and remains in its natural state, this kind of thing happens often. I am very sorry for not understanding this even though I am the landlady.However, it is true that there were deficiencies in our response, and we will take steps to prevent it from happening again.I am very sorry.

The food was so delicious that I kept coming back for the night...I took a cave bath before dinner and was enjoying the atmosphere, and I noticed dead leaves floating in the bathtub! Mixed with the dead leaves, there was a lot of fluffy feces floating around!!(⊃ Д)⊃≡ﾟ ﾟ I immediately scooped it up with a basin and dropped it into the river. When I hurriedly got out of the bath and told the landlady about it, she didn't seem surprised, just ``Oh, I see.'' I was surprised by this reaction, but is this a common occurrence? Since then, I haven't been to Fukumotoya (＞Д＜;)

In the summer, it was an open-air bath with the most rustic atmosphere, and the hot water gushed out from between the rocks at the bottom of the bath.When you look up at the ceiling of the semi-cave, you can see water droplets falling. If you look at the rock, you will notice that the water flowing through it is dyed orange, which suggests that the water droplets are mineral springs.Air bubbles can sometimes be seen between the stones at the bottom, so it may be gushing out from deep within the wall or from several other places.

Very traditional Japanese Onsen hotel run by a Japanese couple.There were 3 onsens opened during our stay - 1 private indoor inside the main building, 1 private indoor outside of main building, 1 public outdoor outside of main building (sort of inside a cave)Food are extremely delicious and portion is huge. Hotel room is clean. Hotel owners are friendly and helpful. Location-wise it is a bit remote, you will need a car to travel to here, but it also means you can enjoy privacy during your stay as it is a relatively small size family owned onsen hotel.To conclude, I would like to recommend this hotel to everyone!
