We had a very pleasant stay at this traditional Japanese hostal, really recommend it! The owners are very kind and will drive you for a fee to the snow monkey park :)

I stayed here on the first day of my summer vacation as the first night of a 3-night, 4-day solo tour. It was much cooler here than in Aichi Prefecture.This is my second time staying at a guesthouse and my first time using a dormitory room. I came here with some anxiety.Although there was almost no sense of privacy, the owners were very friendly and easy to talk to, so I didn't feel any discomfort at all. My roommate was a young woman, so I thought it would be awkward, but she was very nice and I was able to enjoy my time without any unnecessary worries.I was able to sleep soundly with beer🍺 on my tired body. The refreshing morning walk was also great 👍Until now, I had stayed at cheap business hotels or camping, but dormitories are also a good option!I would like to stay there again if I have the chance. thank you very much.I had a good night's sleep, so the next day the weather was perfect and I was able to enjoy the Shibu Pass - Kusatsu - Yamanashi touring.

I stayed for one night in early October. The hostel is a traditional Japanese home with tatami floors and futons. The couple run the hostel out of their house. They offer pickup from the train station and are fairly sociable. It was enjoyable talking to them but not so much that it was intrusive. The house got a bit cold at night however the futon was very warm and comfortable. I highly recommend it if you are traveling in Nagano and want to stay in a traditional Japanese home with friendly hosts.

One tiny room for four people, we barely could walk between the futon, no place to put your stuff except in a space outside of the room. It was supposed to be a « private room » but in fact a dormitory because you could hear everything that was happening in the other rooms. One bathroom for eight or nine people, so you get up very early in the morning if you want to shower or you wait. No locker on the door of the shower nor the bathroom. Expensive for what you get, we really felt that everything was made so the place could be the most profitable (bad coffee 200¥).
