Odd mishmash hotel, with a few good things, and much bizarre odd things. Outdated and murky. Rooms ok, but bathroom old and noisy. Onsen changing rooms renovated, whilst onsen itself is quite old. Breakfast average. Staff a bit abrupt, unfriendly, and not accommodating, but still trying to put on a smile.

To be honest, this was the most disappointing place we stayed in our entire time in Japan. It seemed to be a mixture of a Japanese hotel with some Barvarian touches?? Weirdly out of context! …

I visited for the first time on a motorcycle tour on a Thursday in early September. The location is about 10 minutes from the Kisokoma Kogen branch of R19. If you continue along the road in front of you, you can reach Reishui Park. You can park several bicycles under the eaves on the left side of the entrance, and there is a smoking area in a separate area, so you don't have to worry. At check-in, I informed them that I would be using the sauna and was given a handbag containing sauna clothes and a paid swimsuit. There was a shop near the front desk that sold Kaida Kogen ice cream. The room was large, but the view was on the second floor, so it was pretty good. The convenience store is a little far from the R19 branch. For food and shopping, I think it's best to go to Kiso-Fukushima, near the roadside station near the junction, or use the shops at Reishui Park above. To use the sauna, first warm up in the large public bath, then change into your swimsuit and sauna clothes, then walk outside to the sauna area. The wall painting in the public bath was a crude composite of the observation deck at Kivio Pass, which we went to in the afternoon, which was a bit funny. The largest of the three log house-style sauna huts was under repair. For now, I went into the smallest hut for 2 to 4 people, poured two types of aroma water onto the sauna stone, and it got pretty hot. It's interesting. However, I could hardly detect any aroma...Later, we went to another hut with about 10 people, but the entrance door was poorly installed and difficult to close, so we got tired and went back to the smaller hut. If available, we recommend a small hut. There were two large single-person cold baths, but they were lukewarm at over 20 degrees Celsius directly from the tap, which was disappointing. Maybe it would be better in colder weather. There were many comfortable chairs with backrests, so you could relax while looking at the mountain scenery.I used it for about an hour from 4pm on a weekday when it was still bright, but it was reserved for the entire time. It was comfortable and nice, but I'm a little worried considering the utilization rate of the facility.I don't know about the meals as I only stay overnight. In summary, I think it's a decent value for the facilities, and if you can appreciate the luxurious sauna, it's a good hotel.

My family of 5 stayed here during the Obon holidays in a retro Japanese-style room.It felt old since it's retro, but it was well-cleaned and the futon was just the right firmness. I woke up in the morning to the chirping of birds and had a comfortable stay. The large public bath had a pleasant scent of medicinal herbs. From arrival to departure, all the staff were smiling and very friendly, making me feel warm.It was right around the time when the Perseid meteor shower could be seen, so I spent about an hour looking at the starry sky in the middle of the night.I was able to see many shooting stars including the Milky Way, making it a memorable trip and one of the hotels I would like to visit again. I did.

The forest sauna is wonderful.Perhaps because it was a weekday, we were almost completely reserved, and bathing in the open air in a hammock surrounded by nature and the sounds of insects was the best experience.I'll come back later.

I contacted the hotel the day before (4 days before my scheduled stay) to find out that there would be a cancellation fee due to Typhoon No. 10 approaching. This is because ``Japanese hotels may waive cancellation fees in cases of unavoidable circumstances such as typhoons.Even if you have made a reservation online in advance, please contact the hotel directly and cancel the cancellation fee. I heard that many hotels will waive the cancellation fee if you explain the cancellation fee carefully. I explained that I would like to stay there if possible, and that in the worst-case scenario, I would have no choice but to cancel, but there was an absolute deadline for cancellation charges. Moreover, the hotel here was indifferent to such typhoon information. I imagine that there is a danger of natural disasters before arriving at the hotel as it is close to mountains and rivers with abundant nature, but I do not think the hotel is at all sensitive to the feelings of the guests.Looking at other people's reviews, it seems that the response to those who are feeling unwell is terrible. It is said that the response was callous. There were also reviews from people who were made to feel bad because they were told that they had not made a reservation even though they had made a reservation through a reservation site. They don't have the ability to respond flexibly to such situations. There are also hotels that can flexibly accommodate situations where this is not the case. Will never use this hotel again.

Used on a family trip during summer vacation. The facility is old, but the rooms and dining room are clean. For dinner, we had delicious Matsumoto beef. It's not for children, but I think adults will be satisfied. Drinks in the lobby include all-you-can-drink coffee, tea, and juice. The bath is small and looks like a medicinal bath rather than an open-air hot spring.I think it's good in terms of cost performance.

The receptionist was also kind and polite. It seems like you can stay there with peace of mind. It's rich in nature and you can even catch stag beetles, so the kids are happy. The room is spacious and looks like you can spend a relaxing time there.
