This is my second time staying here in 5 years to see the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale (I remember staying there 5 years ago on my way back from Fuji Rock).I enjoyed the same hospitality, the delicious food, and the hot springs. We had a guide for our early morning walk, which was really fun. It's not an easy place to access since I don't have my own car, but I like traveling to see how far I can go by public transportation, so even the inconvenience is appealing because it feels like a hidden gem.

It was a place I wanted to stay at for a long time. Anyway, the food is delicious! I want to eat here and stay again, but my son and daughter hate insects. I don't want to stay the night... I thought it would be nice to have a room that would be comfortable for even one person to stay in. The inside of the facility was filled with the scent of lilies. The double lily was especially beautiful and had a nice scent.

We stayed here during the Tsunan Snow Festival.I don't think it's suitable for people who are looking for something like a luxury inn, as there is a common area and you can make your own futon beds. However, the attentiveness and personality of the staff, the atmosphere of the inn, the view of Akiyamago, the taste of the food, etc. are definitely wonderful! It made me feel glad that I came.I visited in winter, but next time I would like to visit when there is no snow.I happened to come across the Tsunan Snow Festival and Katakuri no Yado while planning a trip to Niigata.I am grateful for this chance meeting!

After sweating while walking around Akiyama-go, the hot springs were a great relief. Also, I don't think any other hotel has the idea of using the former principal's room as a bathroom. The meals were mainly made with local ingredients, the recipes were unusual, and the vegetables in particular were fresh and juicy, making it irresistible for vegetarians. At night, the cool breeze came in and we could see the starry sky from the balcony, which was very romantic.Morning coffee service is also excellent. The staff was very kind and it was very comfortable, and there are tourist spots nearby where you can enjoy the cool air, so I would like to stay here again.
