The hot water is wonderful, it's not as harsh as Kusatsu, but it's rich.

Beautiful, very authentic onsen. We were the only Westerners there, which I loved. Everyone else were Japanese mostly from Tokyo on a weekend vacation with their family. No one spoke English when we arrived, but thank goodness for Google translate! But today a lady spoke perfect English. The baths were a bit difficult to find, most especially the one on the 6th floor, which was beautiful. We decided to stay in a traditional Japanese room (vs the option of a western hotel room) and LOVED IT. When we were having dinner they came to turn down our room. The all you can eat buffet dinner, which was included, was truly an experience. None of the signs were in English, but once again thank you Google translate! The location was a very windy but beautiful drive. We totally recommend this very authentic experience!

I stayed here with my family of 3 on Wednesday, July 24th.I used the room upgrade plan for an additional 2,000 yen from the basic price. (Japanese-style room, Western-style room, room bath = cypress bath, toilet)As for the meal, I ordered Wagyu Beef Grilled Steak (4,500 yen per person) as a separate order to the dinner hike. Even with this, it was around 20,000 yen per person. Basically, you can choose a type depending on the price, and there are three buildings connected by a connecting corridor (elevator transfer).Since the hotel is located at an altitude of 1,800 meters, there are no air conditioners even in the summer. It was around 20 degrees Celsius when we went. Because the source of the hot spring is nearby, the smell of sulfur is in the air. The hot springs are milky white and seem to be lowered in temperature by adding water. There are several open-air baths, so those who like hot springs will be happy ☺️.I used → Manyo no Yu and was surprised at how cold the washing area was😨. The door to the zone where the washing area and bathtub are located is left open, and the window on the bathtub side is open❗. When I moved the door stopper away and closed it, the old lady cleaning the bathroom yelled at me, ``Don't close it!!'' Other customers were also disappointed, saying, ``It's cold...😞.''This is a highland inn where you can hear the chirping of warblers and chirping birds from outside the window. It's the best place to get away from the heat! ️.However, there are no convenience stores or gas stations, so please don't forget to refuel before going up the mountain. There was a notice posted saying that you would have to drive for an hour to get to the hospital. (40 minutes by ambulance)Also, since it's high up in the mountains, the weather can change easily (it's better to be prepared with the temperature in mind that it's -18 degrees Celsius compared to the flatlands), and it can rain suddenly.

I went alone in October.・Good bath (view, quality of spring water, and starry sky are the best)・Night concert is good・The rabbit is cute・Good morning walk・Good staff (front desk, walking)・Easy to get there by bus from Shinjuku・Meals are normal buffet.・The only famous place in the area is Yubatake. It's great for relaxing. Your skin will become smooth. I'll come back later. Apparently a bear appeared nearby this morning (sweat)

This is my 5th visit since 15 years ago and my first visit in 6 years, but the equipment is very old and there are strange noises, there is dust in the room, hair is coming out of the futon, and I wonder if the staff are foreign trainees. There were some disappointments, such as the exchange of meals and drinks not going well, resulting in waste, and the Choju-no-Yu no longer having an outside bath. I was really disappointed that the prices were high, the service was poor, and the equipment was deteriorating.
