I used it for a day trip. I was told it would be a 30 minute walk from the parking lot, but I managed to climb it. It's quite tiring.There is no open-air bath, but the flowing hot springs are the best.The inn that became the motif of that ``Proof of Humanity''. This inn was also used by Seiichi Morimura in his writings. The historic buildings are also great.On the way back, I met the host of the inn.I was given a ride to the parking lot. Apparently he was on his way to pick up guests staying at the hotel.It really helped me! thank you very much! !I can stay the night next time!

This hot spring inn is quietly nestled deep in the mountains, about 50 minutes by car from Yokogawa Station.The altitude is over 1,000 meters, and even in midsummer, the temperature is over 10 degrees Celsius lower than Takasaki City, so you can stay comfortably with just a fan. Therefore there is no air conditioning.There is no shower at the hot springs, so you wash your body by collecting water from the faucet in a tub. There is only one bathtub, but the amount of hot water is abundant and overflows from the bathtub and flows into the washing area.The alkaline hot springs are slippery and the water is only about 39 degrees Celsius, so you can take a long bath especially in the summer.Both dinner and breakfast are served in your room, and dinner is delicious with over 10 types of tempura and pork soup with lots of ingredients.The rice was delicious and the quantity was large, but I ended up eating all the rice in the bowl.It can be difficult to visit, as it can only be accessed from the parking lot by shuttle service or on foot, but it is recommended for people who want to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.Cell phone reception is difficult, so we recommend bringing a book and reading while listening to the river flowing in the background.

I went there looking for a secret hot spring, and it was an ideal accommodation ＼(^o^)／Inconvenience is good!I was able to do a digital detox without having to connect to radio waves.Actually, I wanted to stay here for about a week.The room was like a grandma's house in the countryside and I was able to relax while listening to the river flow.The hot springs were available 24 hours a day which was great!

This is an unexplored hot spring located deep in the mountains. You will be climbing up a rough mountain road that is closed to public vehicles. There is a shuttle bus from JR Yokogawa Station to the hotel, so I took it.It gives off an atmosphere that keeps people away. Although it is a fairly old building, it has an irresistible rustic feel.The room was a small Japanese style room, which was nice and calm. There is a vending machine in front of the front desk where you can buy beer.The hot spring is a calcium-sulfate spring, and the water is 100% free flowing from the source at a rate of 300L/min.The hot water overflows from the edge of the bathtub. Although there is only an indoor bath, the water is fresh and feels good.The main dish is tempura, lots of wild vegetable tempura, and mushroom soup with lots of ingredients. There are a lot of side dishes for breakfast, and the mushroom soup is delicious.There was a river flowing nearby, but the sound of the river was a bit annoying.

The best secluded inn for urban detox.At the end of the narrow winding mountain road, we waited in the parking lot to be picked up from the hotel. We were greeted by a Hiace equipped with off-road tires. Beyond the parking lot is a forest road that is closed to public vehicles. Some parts are unpaved, but we drove very carefully and arrived comfortably at the inn. The inn is located at the bottom of the valley, so you have to go down a steep mountain-like staircase from the road (and then go up when you return), which may be difficult for those who are not confident in their footing.The inn has a historical feel and has the atmosphere of an inn in an unexplored region. Although it was a fully booked day, the annex was quiet and all you could hear was the murmuring of the river. Other than a large swarm of horseflies in the parking lot, there were no insects to worry about in the middle of summer.The hot springs are worth mentioning. The slightly warm water with a sulfur smell will make your skin smooth. It is no wonder that Kaishu Katsu visited the hot springs. Although there is no open-air bath, the men's bath has large windows where you can enjoy a relaxing soak while looking out at the forest outside. There is a cup at the hot water spout, so you can drink the hot spring water. Everyone, including my companions, said that their intestinal activity improved the next day.The food is also great. Although it doesn't have luxurious ingredients, it is made with heart and is sure to please. I think this is true luxury. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful.I visited various hot spring inns, but I think I may have found the one I liked the most. I would like to repeat it again.In addition, smartphone reception is OK for Docomo, weak for au, and out of range for Softbank.

It's a secret hot spring that is difficult to access and has a difficulty level above intermediate, but as the name suggests, the hot springs are of the highest quality with alkaline sulfate springs and mellow, lukewarm water. The rice is good too. Needless to say, it is a human proof pusher. Former secret hot spring meeting.It's exciting that the hot springs are constantly flowing, and that the washrooms have no faucet and are filled with cold Iwashimizu water.No Softbank, no Docomo, no Wi-Fi. The TV signal is poor in some areas, but it works fine.The toilet is shared, but it flushes properly. There is no washlet.Meals are served in the room, and since we live in the mountains, there are plenty of wild vegetables. The amount of salt in the sweetfish is just right. Bone sake contains not just bones but a whole sweetfish, so it's a good deal because you can eat the meat later.There is no air conditioning even in summer, but it's so cool that it's not necessary in the first place. A fan is sufficient.Also, I don't recommend it to people who don't like insects. Couples often come here. It's probably tough for people who usually only stay at neat hot spring hotels.Highly recommended if you're a Seiichi Morimura fan, whether you're looking for a high-quality free-flowing hot spring or while hiking.

There are also occasional insects and small animals.Dinner is a luxurious menu made with plenty of wild vegetables. The quantity is large and the seasoning is good.The 16 types of tempura are exquisite.Breakfast is less impressive.The hot springs are only indoors, but the water is dripping from the lukewarm source. You can take a long bath with a mild sulfur smell. Bathing available 24 hours. There were no lockers with keys and two hair dryers.Instead of watching TV or smartphones, read a book slowly while listening to the sound of the river.You can experience something out of the ordinary and reset your mind and body.Access is frankly bad.To reach the inn, walk 30 minutes (1km) from the Kanyukan parking lot or use the inn's shuttle.Shuttle service available to Yokogawa Station.Apparently celebrities, business people, entertainers, etc. have stayed here in the past.

I went to every prefecture except Okinawa,The places that still leave a shocking impression on me are Wakkanai in midwinter, Echizen-Ono in midsummer, and Kirizumi Onsen in late autumn (I went there 40 years ago).A friend of mine told me that he wanted to go there because it was the setting for a certain novel, so I went out with him.In the evening, the hallway leading from the room to the bathroom is dimly lit only by lanterns, and that alone is enough.On the way back, I walked to the station. On the way, the road is blocked by a monkey, which frightens me, but it's all part of the fun.

It was not a modern, beautiful, luxurious, artificial building or service, but a mysterious and comfortable inn that made you feel as if you had traveled back in time.It was one of the places my mother wanted to visit at least once, and it was a hidden gem among unexplored areas, and it was a very tasteful inn where the rooms felt like they were integrated with nature.The rice was hearty and delicious.The host gave me a ride back and forth, and it was very interesting to hear about the past of various inns and the surrounding area.It was a pleasure to drive carefully and safely on the steep mountain roads.thank you very much.

From Yokogawa Station on the JR Shinetsu Main Line, which is famous for Toge no Kama-meshi, a courtesy car for guests takes 30 minutes up the mountain road to the inn's parking lot, and then there is a gate that is closed to general vehicles. (Basically, people are not allowed to pass through it either.) We drove carefully for 15 minutes on a mountain road with quite a cliff, being careful of falling rocks.Finally arrived. (Customers who stop by must walk 30 minutes from the parking lot up Hoihoi-zaka, where the road has collapsed in places.) Kinyukan was a truly unexplored area with no electricity or telephone service until 1981. It is an unexplored region, and is known for the fact that in the past, dozens of people, led by Hirobumi Ito, stayed in Room 1 on the second floor of the main building and drafted the Meiji Constitution. Seiichi Morimura's novel ``Proof of Humanity'' begins with ``Mother, what did you do with that hat of mine?'' It was here that I happened to come across a lunch box wrapper with Yaso Saijo's poem written on it. It seems that this was the inspiration for the creation. There is only one small bathtub, which is just enough for three to four people to take a relaxing bath. There is no open-air bath, but this may be because there are many regulations within Joshinetsu Kogen National Park, making it impossible to make one (many old famous hot springs only have indoor baths). The source temperature is 38.9 degrees Celsius, and the hot spring water is abundant at 300 liters per minute, flowing 24 hours a day, and the quality of the spring water is clear and colorless, containing alum and bicarbonate of earth. It contains a small amount of dissolved gas, and it feels like invisible fine bubbles clinging to your body. This is something that can only be found in the highest quality hot springs, and it is also drinkable. Part of the building is from the Meiji era, and there are no locks in the rooms, just sliding doors. There are also shared toilets that use hot spring water. The hotel is generally run-down, so it's suitable for advanced users who like hidden hot springs and unexplored areas.

This is a quiet inn deep in the mountains where you can enjoy the soothing sound of the murmuring of the river.Today's main dish is 17 types of tempura. The elaborate dishes were very delicious. There was a lot of food so I managed to eat it.The hot spring water is a little thick at 39 degrees. I visited in hot April, so the water temperature was just right.I came here on a large touring bike, and the road from Tamaya Drive-in was narrow and had a series of steep hills and sharp curves. On top of that, there were falling rocks and flowing water, so it was a stressful drive.Be careful if you are not used to riding a motorcycle.There was a hut at the back of the parking lot and they let us park there. It was helpful because I could avoid the rain and night dew.
