Today, September 16th, I stopped by Sarukuraso, the filming location for the first half of the monthly drama ``Mountain Doctor,'' which will be airing its final episode on September 16th, on my way back from heading towards Itoigawa. In the drama, it seems like they have finally arrived after climbing the mountain, but the Hakuba-dake trailhead parking lot and the turning point for the shuttle bus are just around the corner, so you can go there by car. However, the road suddenly gets narrower from about 7km before you, so you need to turn on your headlights, drive slowly (though not so much), be careful about stopping quickly, and where to take shelter in case of oncoming traffic.Other than the signboard, in the drama there was a hut that was part of the clinic on the left side as you faced the front, but it's missing and you won't even notice it. (I refrained from taking a tour inside) By the way, the Ayukawa Sanso signboard was also displayed in front of the main entrance. The restrooms are donated, so it's a good idea to bring a 100 yen coin with you. This facility is strictly for climbers, so you may need to be considerate when visiting. (The Hakuba website also says that they have food and souvenirs...)

When you come by car, you drive on narrow, paved roads. There is a large gravel parking lot nearby, and there are signs so it's easy to find. There is also a bus stop, so buses from Shinjuku (?) also seem to stop here.As mentioned in Mountain Doctor, there is no toilet until the summit hut when climbing from here, so it would be best to finish here. There is also a water hole.

The gateway to Mt. Hakumadake. Take a bus from Hakuba Station and submit your mountain climbing notification here. We can also discuss equipment and routes. I'm surprised at how many people ask me, "Do I need crampons?" Rental available.
