Tldr: The hosts are lovely, the food was delightful, and the room was so comfortable. Some highlights:This ryokan has an amazing mineral-rich outdoor onsen, one of the best I’ve ever experienced in Japan, and is right next to the famous Tsubo-yu bath. The dinner was great. We ordered the shabu-shabu course, which was served with onsen water, and every other dish was delicious. Breakfast was also filling and featured some of the best grilled fish I have had at a ryokan.I slept like a baby with the sound of the river right outside of the room. The hosts helped us find our way to the Kumano-Kodo trail and were very sweet people! Thank you! 10/10 would recommend Yoshinoya Ryokan!

A ryokan in Yunomine Onsen. The atmosphere is like that of a slightly larger guest house.I used it for an overnight stay. The room feels a little old but clean. However, there is no air conditioning. It might be a little difficult in midsummer. There are two types of indoor baths, one of which is open-air.The open-air space can only be used for 30 minutes. For those who didn't, the water was a little hot.The hot water was nice and warmed my body.I was impressed with the customer service as well, with a good sense of distance and politeness.

Possibly the best and most abundant dinner we've had in a Ryokan in Japan. We had ordered the Oguri-hankan course and it was a feast of Japanese delicacies. It could possibly be too much as we really struggled to finish everything! The hotel is nice too, with a beautiful outdoor bath, and clean rooms.

(Information as of May 2022)It seems that open-air baths are rare among inns at Yunomine Onsen, and here we have an open-air bath inside a rare inn at Yunomine Onsen. The water is fed directly from the source, but since the source is hot, water is added to keep it at an appropriate temperature. The Japanese-style room is a traditional, typical Japanese-style room. There is a wonderful view of the hot spring town from the window. For dinner, despite being deep in the mountains, the sashimi was delicious, and there were also skewers of fried food, so I think the food is quite reasonable for an inn of this price. The salt-grilled river fish, which is a staple in the mountains, was also freshly prepared. For breakfast, we had hot spring porridge, which is a meal you can only find in a hot spring town. The location is near Tsuboyu, the best location in Yunomine Onsen. I think this is an inn where you can enjoy the atmosphere of a hot spring town.

A very relaxing inn.I was a little surprised to see the famous "Tsuboyu" a few meters away from the window of the indoor bath.I had to wait for 3 hours to take a bath at Tsuboyu, so I gave up, but the bath at the inn was enough to satisfy me.The food is carefully prepared and tastes good, personally, I was very satisfied with the hot spring porridge in the morning.Dinner will be served as shown in the photo, followed by several skewers of fried fish and salt-grilled sweetfish.
