A cafe on the Santo Peninsula on Shodoshima. It seems to be read as "Mokujin". At the recommendation of a friend, we visited for the first time with 6 people, including some from outside the island, and the atmosphere, curry, and chai were great!The location is very difficult to find. If you go up a steep slope that is wide enough for one car to the point where you start to wonder, ``Is this place really here?'' you will see a parking lot on your right. If you go further up the road from there, you will see several buildings, one of which is this cafe. There are stone steps between the two buildings, and a signboard (?) is placed quietly. The atmosphere is great from the entrance.When we passed through a courtyard lined with wooden benches and entered the building that was directly in front of us, we were greeted by a lovely host who looked like an Indian monk. Order and pay first here. I ordered a Rasa plate (curry, rice, and various side dishes) and a regular size chai with soy milk.It seems that the place where the food will be served will be in the building on the left after entering the entrance, and you will go there again through the courtyard. On the way, I heard a nice wooden sound called ``konkon'', so I looked for it and found a bamboo wind chime.The building has been renovated by themselves, including the plaster and ceiling, and it has a wonderful atmosphere, with a perfect blend of traditional and modern parts. A large wooden table, fine beams, a small window that lets in light, and a pendant light. The store itself is like a work of art. Normally we would be talking while waiting for the food, but here the space had a strong presence, and everyone was naturally looking around and discovering various things.The Rasa plate arrived in two batches, each serving three people. This curry is said to be an authentic curry based on Ayurvedic concepts, but it goes well with the Japanese palate. Each flavor is delicious, but when you mix them together, you get an even more delicious and deep flavor. You can enjoy different ingredients in each bite, and if you add peanut butter for a different taste in the second half, you can get a different taste. It seems that the contents of the Rasa plate itself are not fixed, so you can enjoy it no matter how many times you come. The chai after the meal was authentic with a hint of spice and was also very delicious.On the way home, I was able to interact with the adorable children and dogs, and it was a great time.There aren't many seats, so it's best to make a reservation. The parking lot could accommodate more than 5 cars. Cashless payment seems to be supported.
