We recently stayed at Yamanaka Pension Pause during our cycling around Mount Fuji trip from Singapore, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The Japanese couple Mr Kitamura and his wife, who own and manage the homestay were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. After long days of cycling around the beautiful Lake Yamanaka and soaking in the views of Mount Fuji, returning to their cozy pension felt like coming home. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care for their guests made our trip unforgettable.Their advice on local activities was spot-on—they recommended hidden cycling trails around the lake that we wouldn’t have found on our own, and even suggested the best times to catch the perfect sunrise over Mount Fuji. Their personal touch and thoughtful recommendations made us feel like we were staying with family rather than at a homestay. The Japanese-style homestay at Yamanaka Pension Pause is a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. The homestay is thoughtfully designed, offering a peaceful and authentic Japanese experience.Large windows offer beautiful views of the surrounding nature, with some rooms even facing Mount Fuji or the garden. Despite its traditional elements, the homestay is equipped with modern amenities, ensuring a cozy and convenient stay. The communal areas, like the lounge, are welcoming spaces where guests can relax, read, or chat with other travelers. They even offered guests to use thier personal computer. There are massage chairs, piano and others musical instruments that guests can use.The couple’s attention to detail in maintaining the Japanese aesthetic while ensuring comfort is evident throughout the homestay. Every corner of Yamanaka Pension Pause reflects the couple’s dedication to creating a space where guests can truly experience the essence of Japanese hospitality and style. We would highly recommend this place to any visitors looking for a peaceful and welcoming stay near the lakes!

I stayed here for one night on my way back from climbing Mt. Fuji. The owner was very friendly and made me feel at home. There is also a supermarket within walking distance, which is convenient. Mt. Fuji also looked beautiful.

A bit of a walk to the town the venue is lovely the hosts are friendly and use a speech translator to communicate which is excellent. Our room has 3 beds and bathroom toilet shower/bath, towels cost 100 yen to use. the wooden stairs to go up stairs require care quite steep.Able to use dining area so nice quiet and clean with fridge to use if required, as well as microwave, cutlery, crockery, glasses, condiments

We arrived late evening, and after we had our packed dinner, the hosts introduced us to other guests. Then we played a card game. It was joyful. The host was kind enough to help us plan on what to do in Yamanakako and help us book bus tickets back to Tokyo.

This B&B is less than 5 minutes from a supermarketIt takes less than 10 minutes to walk from the Hana no Miyako Park entrance to the bus station. The location is very convenient. The boss and the hostess were very humorous and received us warmly.Despite the language barrier, he was happy to use a translator to chat with us, and told us what time we can see Red Fuji🗻The guest restaurant has a refrigerator, a microwave, milk tea, black tea, green tea and other tea bags, as well as tableware, hot and cold water, seasonings and other supplies. There are electronic keyboards, pianos, massage chairs, and computers in the lobby for free use.And you can see Mount Fuji from the living roomThere are two public bathrooms and men's and women's toilets on the first floor. There are also public toilets and sinks on the second floor, and they are all equipped with smart sensor lights, which is very convenient🩵There is a sterilization cabinet in the dust collection area, and slippers can be disinfected and sterilized at any time~The most thoughtful thing is that there is a dressing area outside the bathroom in our room, which really surprised me.Next time I have the opportunity to visit Yamanakako, I will definitely choose this B&B again😘😘😘

The owner and his wife were friendly and my 2 year old daughter was completely relaxed and attached to them (^^)I think it was a good experience for my daughter as she was able to touch the toys, piano, and xylophone. My husband seemed to be having fun talking about yachts with the owner.I would like to stay again if I am staying in the area. thank you very much.
