I booked this ryokan through Rakuten Stay while visiting Lake Yamanaka during my trip around Mt. Fuji. It is a quiet and quaint place run by the owners' grandparents. On the day I stayed, perhaps because it was April, we were the only guests, and it seemed like they didn't have much experience welcoming foreign guests, but my group and I spoke some Japanese, so communication went well. (Even if you don't speak Japanese, there are signs in English at the entrance and in the rooms, so although it may be a bit inconvenient, it won't be a big problem.)It seemed like it was really well maintained, and the breakfast in the morning felt like it was prepared by real grandparents, which made me want to cry. There were two baths, so I was able to relieve my fatigue, and there were restaurants and bars nearby, so I had a good time and rested. Next time I go to Lake Yamanaka, I want to stay here. I hope that my grandparents stay healthy.

This is a nostalgic inn. There is parking for 5-6 cars. Both indoors and outdoors are kept clean. There are several tennis courts nearby. The corner to enter the inn is a little narrow, but otherwise there are no problems. The view from the room is normal. I had breakfast, but since there was a rice bowl set on the table, I ended up having a second helping and was full.

Very pretty inn, with a cute garden at the entrance. A quiet place located 2 minutes walk from Lake Yamanaka and Fuji-san! You can take beautiful photos there 📷. Rooms with very comfortable futons. Close to a konbini (3min) I WILL BE BACK!

At first I was hesitant to cancel because the place seemed very remote, but it turned out that there was a direct train from Shinjuku on Saturday. Lake Yamanaka is quieter than Lake Kawaguchi, and the plains are quieter in Lake Yamanaka. The old Japanese house is very clean and elegant. The owner tries his best to keep it in the best possible condition. Our family spent two peaceful and happy days here, and it even felt better than the three-star hotel we booked after the trip.

"The Showa" guesthouse, the guest room entrance, the design of the room, there's something nostalgic about it.A tasteful taste. The cleaning is thorough and the futons are fluffy. The toilet and bath are shared, which is also a good thing. The bath is spacious and comfortable, not too warm or too hot.Since it was off-season, we didn't have any food, but the food was delicious.I guess it will come out.I got a good night's sleep and completed the Hirano-Nishitanzawa VC vertical mountain climbing the next day. It's done.Again, sorry for bothering you.

What I always feel when I come here is the owner's thoughtful consideration. Everywhere you look, it's very clean and well-maintained, and when you come here, you feel like you've come home. The food is delicious and luxurious, and the baths are comfortable.
