The owners greet you whenever you come in or out. Might be best to call and ask if they have south facing rooms if you want to see Mt Fuji.

Pros:- Such a beautiful hotel from the outside and the inside. I stayed in the Japanese-style room, which had the most beautiful view of the lake and mountains. Occasionally I would see tourist who were passing by stopped to take a picture of the hotel, as the English-Tudor look is quite unique too.- The room is also very spacious and the futon bed is more comfortable than I expected. The staff had already set up the beds when I arrived, so nothing to worry if you don’t know how to set up.- The staff are all super friendly and would greet you when you go out in the morning and when you come back, which added to the homey feel. They gave some good recommendations around the area, and also kindly helped me with the luggage forwarding service to my next hotel (“Takyubin”) including filling in the forms.- Complimentary coffee in the morning at the reception area- Shuttle bus to Kawaguchiko Station in the morning every half an hour from 8-10am. In the evening, you would have to call the hotel if you need them to pick you up from the station. It’s not too far to walk either - I think around 15 mins ish.- Have I mentioned the gorgeous view from the hotel?Cons- The onsen was closed when I was there (which I was already informed about when I made the booking, so not an issue for me). It should be open again in October I think, so would be nice to enjoy when the weather gets cold.- People from outside can see you in the room quite clearly in the evening with the lights on. Not an issue for me either. Just be sure to shut the window panel at night or when you’re changing.

A fantastic hotel on Lake Kaguguchi, within walking distance of restaurants, cafes and a 15 minute walk to the station. The hotel is a very attractive ryokan with very good service. Yes, the interior is not new but it is in good condition and adds a lot of charm to your stay. Go for breakfast, it's well worth the price! They are currently renovating the onsen so it is closed at the moment. Nevertheless, we would recommend this hotel to everyone and we hope to come back again.
