You will receive a very warm welcome here. The owners also live in the building and run this ryokan with a lot of love and heart. You can tell just by the way they treat guests, how they look after them and how they are happy to fulfill every wish.I can highly recommend the onsen - even if it is rather small.Based on the price/performance alone, we would come back at any time. The hotel is very centrally located (36 minutes from the train station) but close to the Gion district, where there is a lot going on in the evenings.

I stayed here during the Obon period in August. My American friend was also happy! My friend commentStaying at this Ryokan was a very special experience for me. I have stayed at a few others in the past but this one was my favorite. Part of the reason I enjoyed my stay so much here was because the hosts were so kind and friendly. The room was also well kept and the location was great! I would recommend this place to anyone :)

Stayed 3 nights in this ryokan, located right down the street from the Nishiki Market and walking distance to Gion. Great location and entrance is tucked away. The owners are so sweet and helpful. They helped make a dinner reservation for us before arriving in Japan. Easy to get an uber to and from the train station. The traditional rooms were spacious, and there were extra bed pads for a more comfortable sleep. The shower/bath room was roomy as well. There was a traditional floor table as well as a regular table with chairs and a mini fridge and microwave. We tried the traditional breakfast one morning, which had a lot of different dishes.

This place is located on the north side of Nishiki Market and is in a very good location to go to the downtown area. Also, the proprietress is fluent in English, so the restaurant has a good reputation among overseas customers.
