If you want to stay in a traditional home in Japan, get a ryokan. It was really nice, spacious and we loved the wooden bathtub. The place is a bit dusty, but it was worthy for the traditional experience with a modern twist of the fully equipped kitchen.

Our family stayed here for 4 nights recently and this will always feel like our little home away from home in Kyoto, we absolutely loved our stay here. The open air bath was a huge hit and such a lovely way to relax after long days of sight seeing. The convenience stores near by were wonderful and we found the neighbours surrounding the inn to be really friendly. The beds were also incredibly comfortable! The only hiccup was that the staff hadn’t sent our PIN code previous to our arrival and as we booked through a travel agent there was a lack of communication that resulted in us sitting on the street for 2 hours with 2 children on a Sunday with no way to contact the virtual front desk. This is where the wonderful neighbours swooped in to help us and were so grateful for them! With their help in translating/attempting to call the phone numbers provided we eventually found that instagram was the way to communicate with the staff and it all eventually got sorted. I don’t know what we would have done without the lovely family staying next door and the local neighbours who came to our rescue! So please if you’re lucky enough to stay here make sure you’ve been sent the PIN code previous to your arrival as they are not always easy to contact especially on a weekend.Apart from this we truly enjoyed our stay and we were very sad to leave. The area felt so safe and well located to catch busses and get around Kyoto, the house was very clean and had everything we needed.Thank you so much for having us!

I decided to stay at this inn after seeing the atmosphere of the rooms on the website and SNS.Just like the photo, I was captivated by this wonderful Kyoto-like inn. The semi-open-air cypress bath was the deciding factor. However, in pursuit of fashion, there were many points that bothered me.① The living room is fully visible from the second floor of the house across the street.② There is nothing that completely separates the bathtub from the washroom, so even if the door is opened, ventilation cannot be achieved in time, and the mirror fogs up, making it unusable. No chairs for the bathroom.③ There are spider webs on the maple trees that can be seen from the open air. A lamp with a nice atmosphere is broken.④It was my mistake that I misunderstood that there was a kotatsu and futon set because it was listed as a horigotatsu, but I would have felt less cold if I had a blanket or something like that.Especially in ①, I couldn't relax because I felt like my private life might be looked into.We put a lot of effort into the atmosphere and miscellaneous goods, and I would like to use the hotel again if we can improve the comfort even further.thank you very much.

It was a spacious accommodation with a kitchen and washing machine! Even two adults can stretch their legs in the bath. Unfortunately, although there is a roof to go to the bath, it is cold in winter because you walk outside. There is also no insulation in the building, so if you don't turn on a heater, it will get cold, so make sure to turn it on. Since it faces the main street, you may hear the noise of cars at night. . Even minus those things it was very good!
