Stayed here for 3 nights. It is a convenient location close to Nijo Castle, convenience stores, and Sanjokai shopping street. It comes with a washing machine, so you don't have to change clothes even if you stay for several nights. The room is a Japanese-style room with a relaxing feel. My personal drawback was that the heating was set on a timer and turned on automatically every day. It may be a service, but there are many air conditioners running even though no one is there, which is a waste of energy.

If you are going to stay in Kyoto, try staying in a machiya at least once. That's what I thought. This trip made my wish come true. Nijo Sumirean was set back from the main street, so it was very quiet and relaxing. I felt like I had everything I needed to live here and could live like this. What made me happy was the cypress bath. I was able to soak in the hot water while being surrounded by a nice scent, and was able to soothe my daytime fatigue. This time, I wanted to go to see "NAKEDFLOWERS 2023 Autumn" being held at Nijo Castle, so I'm glad I chose this place because I could walk home from Nijo Castle even late at night.

This inn is easily accessible from the subway and offers a townhouse atmosphere. It was also wonderful to be able to see Nijo Castle on the way to the subway station after leaving the hotel!

I was able to stay at Machiya Inns & Hotels, which I had been eyeing on Instagram for a long time! The guest room, which was a renovated townhouse in a modern style, was an overwhelmingly extraordinary space, and the moment we entered, the whole family exclaimed, "Wow!" The bath and courtyard were also very nice. Also, the amenities were better than any other hotel I've stayed at, and the coffee was delicious in the morning. The location is within walking distance of Nijo Castle, and there are many bus stops, so you can access anywhere in the city without stress. This is a place I would recommend to my friends! It seems like there are a lot of affiliated inns, so I'll be staying there again! !

It's a really nice space, and if you're traveling to Kyoto, I highly recommend staying here. At night, you can relax and immerse yourself in the Kyoto atmosphere in a machiya, so if you go to the underground department store or Nishiki Market to buy some Kyoto-only ingredients, buy some alcohol (and have breakfast if you want), and spend the night in a machiya here, your trip to Kyoto will be even more enjoyable. I recommend it because you can have a great time! I had a great time and would like to go again.

It's a very quiet downtown. The rooms have been rehomed so you can enjoy a modern stay, but you can also feel the nostalgia of visiting your grandparents' house.Although the location is close to Nijo Castle, the nearest station is a little far away, so I use taxis more often. It might be a good idea to use it according to your travel plans!

We recommend staying in a machiya at least once when traveling to Kyoto. Staying in a renovated townhouse that retains the charm of an old Japanese house is sure to double the fun of your trip.Sumirean, where I stayed this time, is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from JR Nijo Castle Station. There are convenience stores and a shopping street nearby, so after sightseeing all day, you can relax and have a meal at the hermitage. There is a kitchen on the first floor, a living room with wood floors, and a tatami living room facing the courtyard. There is a bedroom and a tatami room on the second floor, so even a large number of people can stay comfortably. The fragrant cypress bath was also nice.Tea, coffee, and bottled water were also provided, and Amini Tei was prepared in cute bags.A washing machine is also available, which is a nice feature for those staying multiple nights. Of course it's free. Detergent was also provided.I was sitting on the dirt floor and relaxing until the very last moment of checkout.I would definitely like to stay again.

It was so beautiful here and I had a lot of fun staying in this beautiful house! Everything was incredibly clean, the futon and beds were very comfortable and the surrounding area was also very quiet. I particularly enjoyed my bath. Everything you needed could be found in the kitchen - the coffee especially tasted good!Overall, I highly recommend Sumire-an!
