I visited the Art Village again after 5 years. The owner’s grandfather still welcomes us with a bright smile!! I was relieved to see that he was doing well and in good health. The art village, which can be used as a private house, was renovated and made neat (it was clean before), and the road to the open-air hot spring bath was taken by Eagle Road, so I was able to go there happily. It was a shame that the weather was getting warmer and the igloo was melting, but it was great to be able to stay in the hot springs all night. Dinner and breakfast were fusion style, prepared by the grandfather himself, and they tasted really, really good. My friend gave me wine at the ryokan as a surprise and I had a fun evening.Next time you go on a hot spring trip to Sapporo, be sure to!! I'm going to the art village!

It is hidden in the forest on the left in front of Asahidake Visitor Center. Although it is a relatively large lodge-like building, it is currently a quiet inn where only one group can stay each day. Dinner can be prepared individually. Master is a professional photographer, but he is also a good cook. The Yukomabetsu River flows nearby, but the river is still narrow and flowing quickly. We have the best open-air baths to match that flow. I walk about 5 meters naked from the changing room where the indoor bath is located, but it is surrounded by forest so I don't feel at all. It's pitch black at night. The starry sky is really beautiful.Every few years I go to see the autumn leaves at Mt. Asahidake in late September, and since the ropeway is nearby, I have to leave my car there until I return.
