I really really want to write a good review for this place because it's so authentic. Unfortunately it's too authentic for us!So what don't we like?1. Before arrival we were asked to send copies of our passports. We sent 5 passports but on arrival bedding was only available for 4 people. So one of our guests had to find a hotel at short notice. Strangely there were many mattresses in a cupboard but no bedding for a 5th bed. The other bedding was too warm material and not appropriate for the struggling A/C.2. The stairs to the upper floor are VERY steep and more like a ladder. We are relatively fit but didn't trust taking our luggage up there. This also means that a quick trip to the toilet during the night turns into a dangerous adventure in the dark...3. There are 7 areas in the house but only 4 of them have A/C. Unfortunately the only toilet and shower have no A/C... so who likes using the toilet at 38 degrees temperature? And after you shower then you're sweating again before you have time to dry yourself. The toilet window is just a hole so in theory neighbors can see you sitting there!4. There was a used tooth pick and a black hair showing that the place was not really well cleaned before hand. Generally there are many small and or badly repaired broken items in the house, such as small holes or dents in the wall, or broken panels.5. There is only one proper chair to sit in. If you have any type of back problems then I would avoid this accommodation.6. The owners make no contact 1:1 and therefore are no help to guests. However, they leave lists of rules in the house and also emailed us the rules over and over. For example, one rule is strange: If the door bell rings then do not answer it. Do the owners have problems with the neighbors or what's going on there?7. The electrical wiring is very old and all wires are exposed. There are some sockets but not very many free to use, and they are often in very odd places like closer to the ceiling. I only found one suitable to recharge my devices after searching all over.8. There is a newer looking washing machine in the 38 degree zone... But no English instructions regarding how to use it.9. Lastly there was a typhoon hitting so we departed a day early and headed back for Tokyo. It was an easy decision because we had already thought about getting alternative accommodation anyway due to all the issues above. And we thought the building might be potentially dangerous in a typhoon due to its more flimsy nature.Looking at the other photos the owner obviously posted: They were obviously very staged and there has been a lot of neglect since then. Things were nowhere near as sparkly and tidy. For example, the tea set is not set up nicely when you arrive. It's like the owners don't care anymore, or just made the effort for the first photos they made. Also, the sharpest knife we could find in the kitchen was a butter knife :-(
