What a lovely little place this was. The super friendly owner welcomes you to his childhood home. He is very helpful and conscientious! The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need, even a little breakfast which is not typical in Japan. Location is great as bus stops are near and you are already close to a geisha district. Supermarket is also very close :)

This stay in Kyoto was fantastic, thanks in part to this lovely guesthouse in this Ryokan. The neighborhood is really typical, as well as convenient. The hosts are especially very warm and adorable, and they have thought of everything! The small Zen garden, and everything you need to go to the onsen which is less than 15 minutes away (to be honest, I was there the 5 evenings that I stayed at Hana Nishijin). Finally, the main sites, even those on the other side of the city, as well as the center, are very easily accessible by bus. I highly recommend this Ryokan if you are staying in Kyoto.

An unforgettable experience. A small traditional house located in the middle of a traditional street in Kyoto, lots of temples nearby, an onsen 5 minutes away, the hosts were extraordinary, super nice and helpful, they will be able to help you and show you the extraordinary places in the city . they also offer rental of real kimonos and also the possibility of renting a bike. There are two bedrooms on the second floor and another on the ground floor with a magnificent well-kept garden. We will definitely come back next time!

Hana is a wonderful stay! The hosts are super sweet and caring! If you want to stay in a traditional guesthouse this is the place to be. The local area is really cool, and if you go to the big tourist areas, you'll just need to know how to use the public transit, but it's not hard. You share the living room, bathroom, and showers with the other guests, but so far everyone we've stayed alongside with have been very nice.

What a fantastic place to stay. I asked our previous hotel to call and ask if I could drop off my bags before check-in. Instead, they came and picked me up and drove me to the home stay. They are very accommodating, used google translate to communicate, are extremely friendly and helpful. They explained everything and recommended a very nice sushi restaurant for lunch. They showed me where I could rent a bike, which was helpful as I was able to ride to a garden that had Sakura in bloom when everyone advised the season was over. I highly recommend staying here, and although it says it's 2 stars, I would say it's better than most places. Comfortable, spacious, and overall very nice.
