I used the forest road to go there and the promenade on the way back. The forest road was a longer walk, but even though it was unpaved, the footing was firm and there were few ups and downs, so I was able to walk comfortably. Occasionally, a delivery truck or a local passenger's car would come along the forest road, making it feel less like a secluded area, but I thought this was to avoid bears. The promenade is a suitable route to approach the secret hot springs. However, the ball is scratched because the footing is not good and the bear looks like it's going to come out. It didn't save much time either. For your reference, I have attached the GPS logs for going and returning.

From the Meobuchi parking lot, walk for about 2 and a half hours on a promenade or forest road. The route of the promenade was blocked in some places by fallen trees and falling rocks. It's a trekking course with some waterlogged spots along the way, but it might be a little dangerous if you're wearing sneakers. As you head towards the entrance, you will be greeted by the signboard dog, Gaku-kun. I thought I'd see her on the promenade, but it seems like she doesn't go for walks much these days. They welcomed me, but I immediately lay down and looked a little uncomfortable. Maybe it's because I'm 13 years old.The hutte is very clean and spacious as there are only 6 rooms. Self-sold canned beer in the hallway costs 300 yen and chuhai is 200 yen, so you can enjoy it after your bath at a reasonable price. There was also a kettle and cold underground water pot in the room. From the evening, the temperature drops below 20 degrees and is very comfortable. There is no problem even if there is no air conditioner in the room.I was surprised that the meal was a full course and included wine. I feel the commitment. The hot spring egg-cooked rice in the morning is also delicious. However, there was char for breakfast and dinner, but it was disappointing that it was the same fish even though the cooking method was different. I guess it's a specialty. The hot springs have a large amount of hot water, so there is no faucet in the washing area, so the hot spring water is kept running. The open-air bath and the indoor bath are connected with the windows left open, so the horseflies can enter as much as they like. It attacks me and I'm too busy trying to chase it away to take a relaxing soak in the hot springs. It may have stung a bit because it turned red in several places. I didn't encounter it at night or early in the morning, so I recommend those times in the summer. You want to enjoy the hot springs to the fullest since you have them. I would be happy if you would consider installing something like an ab cap.

This was over 30 years ago, but I feel nostalgic so I'm writing a review. When I was in elementary school, my father, who loved mountain climbing, took me there every year. I parked my car at Mefubuchi and walked. It was quite hard for my children's feet, but I still have fond memories of the inn and open-air bath, which felt like a secret hot spring. (At that time it was an old wooden inn)What I remember most vividly was the toilet. The toilets in old inns usually have a smelly smell, but is this toilet in the river? It was built on top of a bathtub, and anything you put out there washed away with water, so it didn't smell or get dirty and my butt was cool, so I didn't hate it (lol) I can't even think about it now. After taking a hot spring, it was customary to drink canned milk.Once when I was going down a mountain, I was caught in a terrible thunderstorm, and the way back was like a waterfall of mud, and I ended up descending in tears. I now have fond memories of thinking that if I had stayed at Kani-yu or Hatcho-no-yu in front of the parking lot, this wouldn't have happened.I am very happy to know that the hot spring inn of my memories is still alive and well. I wish I could take my kids there someday.

I thought it would be a small inn, but the rooms were spacious, the dining room had good acoustics, and it was a very comfortable inn. The food and wine were delicious, the indoor bath had a borrowed view of greenery, and the open-air bath had a view of the starry sky.On the way back, the timing was perfect, and Gaku-chan (Kawakami dog) saw me off at Hatcho-no-Yu. Even when I was leading the way, he would wait for me when I came to a fork in the road, and if a stone had fallen on the stairs, he would drop it to the side.He was a very smart child.Everything was wonderful.

This is a hot spring that I want to go to every year. Perhaps because my husband is elderly, he can only stay three days a week. I'm getting older here too, so I want to go there as long as I can walk. Please go and try it.

There are only 6 guest rooms, and since some guests are traveling alone, they have the bath to themselves. There is no TV and there is no telephone in the building. Wi-Fi can be used indoors, but it's not very fast. They leave me alone except when I ask them to eat, so I can relax. The good things about this place are the hot springs and food. If you like wine, you can also enjoy wine. However, you will have to walk for about two and a half hours to reach it. To put it bluntly, that is a drawback. Therefore, there are no children and there are many repeat visitors, so you can spend a quiet time here. It is difficult to get reservations on weekends.

A few years ago, I stayed there for one night by myself, and everything was wonderful. The dog from the hotel accompanied me on the mountain path on the way home, which was reassuring lolIt's a place I'd like to go to again and again, and I highly recommend it.

This is my second visit.I want to go there as many times as I can while I can walk well.It took us two hours to get there, and the bath we took and the food we had were amazing. Dinner is of course, but the egg-cooked rice for breakfast is exquisite.Apparently, the owner of this place used hot spring water to create floor heating in the middle of winter. In other words, hot springs are flowing under the floor. His dog, Gaku-chan, will accompany him wherever he feels like.
